On February 14-15, 2017 the OPEN Media Hub launched its activities for broadcast media in Armenia with a Master Class in Media Management. Managers and editors from nine Armenian TV stations took part in the event. The Master Class covered topics such as news coverage planning, newsroom management, including integrated newsrooms, news deployment, covering breaking news, usage of multiple sources and the production of Tv content for international exchange.
Stephane Bentura, a TV Documentary film director and journalist led the Broadcast Management Master Class. Mr. Bentura has 27 years of experience in the field of journalism having worked at a News agency, as a Chief editor, at 24 hours news outlets, in documentary filmmaking and Television production. From the destiny and fate of the 2015 Paris killers Coulibaly and the Kouachi brothers, to “The Blogger and the Dictator in Libya”, or “The Mexican O.D”, Stephane Bentura tries to explore the hidden triggers of life and society drama around the World. Fluent in Russian, Italian and English, he started his career in the former Soviet Union in 1989, as a foreign correspondent for AFP, leaving reborn Russia after the collapse in 1993, to cover Washington DC and the US life from 1994 to 1996. Back in Moscow in 1997 – 98, where he was hiring and managing a 70 Russian team to launch the French magazine Paris Match in Russian, he returned to Paris leaving print press to become a TV reporter from 2000. The Master Class in Yerevan was the first opportunity for the OPEN Media Hub to work with Mr. Bentura who will be returning to Armenia later this year to carry out in-house consultations and production workshops with Armenian Television stations.
