The OPEN Media Hub is launching its second online course for media managers: Digital Media: Audience Engagement.
The course includes practical advice and guidance for digital media managers on how to develop methodology to analyse web-site and social media metrics such as page and video views, unique browsers, engagement, recirculation etc. The course shows how to grow on-site and off-site audiences, optimise and recycle content, identify topics and formats to serve the needs of the users. It incudes finding the proper metrics and methodolgy for conducting growth hacking experiments aimed at increasing audience engagement via online platforms and scial media accounts of media organisation.
The auhor of the course is Anna Vissens, who has been working for the BBC for over 15 years. In 2006, she was appointed social media editor of the BBC Russian service. A year later, Anna received an award for best BBC World Service producer in recognition of her success in building new audiences and developing effective social media strategies. In 2015 Anna joined the BBC’s audience engagement and data team. She has also expanded her skills by coding in Python and using data science and machine learning to gain better understanding of audiences.
