6. Fruit Basket
At position 6 of Best Slice of Life Anime. The anime first aired in 2001, and looking at popularity, the series got a remake which aired in 2019. After the success of fruit basket, the anime aired for four consecutive seasons. The final season of fruit basket was such an amazing story that it landed the second position for the all-time highest rate.
Tohru Honda’s life was filled with misfortunes when a tragedy left her living in a tent. but soon enough a small tent was discovered by a mysterious clan also known as Souma Clan. soon she found herself living in a house full of males, who have a big secret. when anyone from the family is hugged by the opposite sex they turn into an animal of their respective zodiac.
5. Spy x Family
Holding position 5 in Best Slice of Life Anime is Spy x Family. I don’t think anyone of you hasn’t heard of this anime. the anime which took the potato world by surprise and so on after its season one the team released seasonal part 2 and currently is preparing for Season 2 this year along with a movie that will also be in theaters this year.
The anime is about a famous spy code name ‘Twilight’ who is the most talented spy from Westalis and his mission is to investigate the moments of Donovan Desmond the chairman of the Ostania national union Party.
For this mission, he takes the identity of a psychiatrist ‘Loid Forger’ and starts looking for a family the first member is Anya, his daughter and she can read the minds of people. then he found his wife Yor, who is an assassin.
World peace now depends on the hands of this family as they go on this adventure full of surprises while hiding their true identity from each other.
4. March Comes in Like a Lion
At number 4 in Best Slice of Life Anime is this classic anime. One of our personal favorites, March comes in like a Lion is beautifully written and animated. the story is about a guy ‘Rei’ who is a pro shogi player and despite being a pro he struggles with come of some basic life problems. Rei has no friends at school because he takes very less classes and since he is pro he is antisocial. He left his home and now living alone.
the only ones who have accepted him are a family living on the other side of the river. A family of three sisters and their grandfather.
The anime has two seasons and is filled with the experiences of different people, the author has not only focused on the main character but also the characters besides him, their struggles and their lives, and how each of them makes Rei a better person.
3. Kaguya sama
Coming at number 3 of Best Slice of Life Anime. “Everything is fair in love and war” You might have heard of this quote but this anime takes it to the extreme level. Kaguya sama love is War is one of the trending anime with a mix of romcom and slice of life and it is hilarious.
The anime is a war between Miyuki Shirogane and Kaguya Shinomiya who are genius in academics, and everyone thinks they are a perfect couple. but that’s not the case for these two, Miyuki who is good in academics has pride in being above Kaguya, and Kaguya who comes from a rich family has pride in coming from a social status family. though they both know what the other person feels they try desperately to make the other person confess their feelings first.
2. Your Lie in April
Runner up for the Best Slice of Life Anime is Your Lie in April. Get ready to cry because this anime is among the anime which has brought tears to the people who have watched this anime.
Another anime on the list which has a prodigy in it and also the name of a month in it just like March comes in like a Lion. This time it’s Kousei Arima who is a pianist and also called as ‘Human Metronome’ but after losing his instructor and who was also his mom he had a mental breakdown. After this, he never played piano and for him, the world turned grey. Everything changed when he met a girl named Kaori Miyazono who is pretty and played violin. the story is tragic yet beautiful and recommended as a must-watch.
1. Violet Evergarden
The winner of the list of Best Slice of Life Anime is Violet Evergarden. Another anime that will bring tears to your eyes is Violet Evergarden. When someone asks you what is love you often pause and think for a while recalling all the moments with your crush or partner but this anime shows a different form of love.
Violet is left with the final words from his senior “I love you”, Violet was trained to be a human weapon and thus these words and emotions were new to her. A few years after the war Violet became an ‘Auto Memories Doll’ who convert people’s thoughts into words and send them to their loved ones. On her journey to understand the true meaning of the words she came across different forms of love, the love between a brother and sister, love between father and daughter, love between mother and daughter, and many more.
