What Is The Plot of A Good Person?
As we have already mentioned, A Good Person will be an emotional movie, with plenty of drama and tragedy, which should give you the slightest hint about what this movie will revolve around. The official synopsis of A Good Person follows along the lines of:
“Allison, whose life falls apart after her involvement in a fatal accident. In the following years, it is the unlikely relationship she forms with her would-be father-in-law that helps her inevitably live a life worth living.”
Allison lives a good life, she has the comfort, love, and support that most people yearn for. She also has a wonderful fiancé, and things are perfect, but not for long. Allison gets into a horrible accident, but she manages to survive, and while this should have been a good thing for her own being, it shatters her whole world. Allison, who is now recovering from opioid addiction, must try and survive life after she has been given another chance. In this journey of grieving and healing from tremendous loss, Allision forms an unlikely relationship with her would-be father-in-law, Daniel. A Good Person is all about trying to get your life back together while allowing yourself to feel any and every emotion that comes your way.
Maybe Daniel will be the key to all her answers and help Allison put her life back together. This movie is about tragedy, loss, forgiveness, healing, and redemption. We advise watching this movie with an open heart, and we are also expecting a little sprinkle of humor from time to time because A Good Person has been classified under the comedy-drama genre, however, we have a feeling the ratio of drama to comedy might be a little unbalanced. We will have to wait to find out!
The Cast of A Good Person Movie
Zach Braff has hit a home run with the cast of A Good Person. The two main characters in this movie are going to be Allision and Daniel, although the movie will mainly revolve around Allison’s recovery. Allison will be played by none other than Braff’s ex-girlfriend, aka Yelena Belova, and hopefully, you guessed it right, it is none other than Florence Pugh. Pugh is hands down the perfect choice for Allison because we know that she is extremely versatile when it comes to her different performances. Pugh is also well known for the emotions that she expresses even without dialogues, and there is no one better suited than her for Allision in this upcoming movie.
Next, we have Daniel, who will be played by the legendary Morgan Freeman. Another brilliant casting for A Good Person. Freeman has some range when it comes to performances, much like Pugh, only he has been around for a lot longer, which means that he has perfected every other genre, especially drama. It will be interesting to see Pugh and Freeman work together under Braff’s direction.
Other cast members joining A Good Person are Molly Shannon, Celeste O’Connor, Zoe Lister-Jones, Jackie Hoffman, Toby Onwumere, and Chinaza Uche amongst others. It will be interesting to see the roles these actors and actresses play, and how their characters help Allison in her recovery.
When and Where Can You Watch A Good Person?
A Good Person has been talked about since February 2021, and by September of the same year, it was confirmed that MGM would be producing and distributing the movie, A Good Person, with Zach Braff directing it, who already had Florence Pugh and Morgan Freeman set to play the roles of Allison and Daniel. Filming of A Good Person began in November 2021, and finally, more than a year later, the movie will be available to watch in theatres on the 24th of March, 2023. Like we said before, 2023 is going to be a great year for movies, and especially with the pandemic out of the way, more people are inclined to go watch movies in the theatres, and with a cast that includes Pugh and Freeman, A Good Person is bound to be a blockbuster hit.
Is There a Trailer for A Good Person?
MGM released the official trailer for A Good Person recently, and it is proof that this movie is going to be an emotional journey. The trailer itself will bring tears to your eyes because of the realness and raw emotions that have been portrayed by the cast, especially Florence Pugh. Despite having some big names in A Good Person, Pugh manages to stand out with her stellar performance which seems almost too natural and effortless, and fans can’t get over just how brilliant she is. The trailer also boasts some brilliant direction and cinematography, and if these couple of minutes have made you tear up, then we would highly recommend carrying some tissues when you go watch the movie.
