|Details:||This story is about Syrian migrants who arrived in Georgia in search of asylum during the Syrian war. Our hero left the country 5 years ago and resides in Georgia. Based on his own experience, he tells us why he chose Georgia. We will also show the asylum, where refugees from Syria lived, before receiving permit of residence. The story includes statistic data on refugees sheltered by the United States and Europe and what is the number of sheltered Syrians in Russia.
In the report you will also find out how Syrian citizens of Abkhazian origin returned to Abkhazia, as a result of the repatriation process implemented with the support of the Russian government. These citizens were forcefully displaced by the Russian Empire in the 19th century.
The report also includes interviews with repatriates, supplied by our correspondent in Abkhazia.
