Title: Violent Games
Summary: The radio documentary of Jerko Bakotin brings testimonies of refugees “captured” in neighboring Serbia, of members of Doctors Without Borders and of other non-governmental organizations about the brutal violence of border police officers of the European Union member states towards refugees, including juveniles, who are trying to cross the border – which in their own jargon are called “The Game”. Although the violence is predominantly in Hungary and Bulgaria, testimonies claim that the police of Croatia use violence for deportations that could be declared as torture. The Minisytry of Interior denies such claims.
This is the second production of Jerko Bakotin, supported by the Migration Media Award. He won the Second Place in Radio Category in 2017 with his radio documentary One Week in Idomeni.
