He attended and graduated from Harbor High School before attending the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in Los Angeles, California. He made his film debut in Cityscrapes: Los Angeles in 1994 and appeared in several other films, including Star Trek: First Contact in 1998, High Crimes in 2002, and The Aviator in 2004, alongside Leonardo DiCaprio and Cate Blanchett.
