Shigeru Mizuki’s Akuma-kun which has more than one version; was first adapted as a live-action TV show which gave birth to anime TV series, and that’s how it became popular back in the 80s.

Moreover, two movies have been produced in 1989 and 1990. Toei Animation has decided to bring it back to the screens along with Junichi Sato as the director, and the series is set to premiere in Fall 2023 on Netflix.

The interesting part of the series is that the demons are not only the ones mentioned in Bibles but some have been referred, from various folktales and myths. At the beginning of the story, Azuma Kun does not possess any powers of demons or powers to summon them.

He tries to summon demons using various methods but ends up failing until Dr. Fraust helps him with his magical research. Then he finally succeeds in harnessing the power of demons. Azuma Kun also receives Solomon’s flute which; gives him the power to control the demons.

Azuma Kun has multiple subordinates, and they; are referred to as the “Twelve Apostles” Yes, many of the references are of Christian origin, but; the overall story is enthralling and a must-watch.
