Algerian journalist Chahreddine Berriah joins a group of migrants form Sub Saharan Africa crossing illegally the border with Morocco. Led by organised smugglers the group hopes to reach the Spanish enclave of Melilla and continue to Europe.
Chahreddine Berriah is a winner of a Migration Media Award for 2017. His new article follows up on the award-winning story, Sub-Saharan Migrants between Algeria and Morocco: the Damned of Africa.
