You’re all in for some very good news because, after more than three years, Black Mirror has officially been greenlit for another season, which means that the rumors are indeed true and Black Mirror Season 6 is officially happening.
In fact, the upcoming season went into production sometime in 2022! The creators of Black Mirror Season 6 will remain the same as the previous seasons, which means Charlie Brooker will be back to take us into the future, and we are more than excited about this development, despite it still being in the early stages.
As we mentioned in the previous section, Black Mirror Season 6 is still in the early stages, so we don’t have a concrete plot just yet. However, we are certain that Black Mirror Season 6 will follow a similar pattern as compared to the previous seasons.
Since this is an anthology series, all episodes will tell a different story, and will most likely be set in the future. Black Mirror is best known for showing its audience how humans can benefit from technology in the future, but at the same time, how it can also be the bane of their existence.
Black Mirror Season 6 is going to take place post-pandemic, and we have a feeling that Charlie Brooker might take some inspiration from everything that has transpired in the last few years.
If we go by the official synopsis of Black Mirror as a whole, it goes something like this: “In an abstrusely dystopian future, several individuals grapple with the manipulative effects of cutting edge technology in their personal lives and behaviors.”
Black Mirror Season 6 will definitely be darker, with newer technology that will make us question our entire existence.
As per sources, each episode of Black Mirror will be treated like a movie and will be a cinematic masterpiece. It will be interesting to see how this pans out!
Black Mirror Season 6 will continue being an anthology series just like the previous seasons, which means, there will be an ensemble cast. Each episode will have a different cast, and while all cast members haven’t been confirmed just yet, we do have a few names to get you excited for Black Mirror Season 6.
Black Mirror Season 6 will definitely have a few big names joining in, including Zazie Beetz whom you might recognize from Joker and Deadpool 2. The very talented Aaron Paul will also be joining the cast of Black Mirror Season 6 and if you are thinking why his name sounds familiar it’s because he has appeared in some of the most popular tv shows like Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul, and Westworld.
Paapa Essiedu, Josh Hartnett, Kate Mara, Danny Ramirez, Anjana Vasan, and Auden Thornton will also be joining the cast of Black Mirror Season 6. Of course, there are bound to be several other cast members depending on how many episodes there will be this season.
Also, it is a possibility that some Black Mirror veterans might return to play a different role in the upcoming season, just like Michaela Coel did in the previous seasons!
As of now, there is no confirmed release date for Black Mirror Season 6, but we are almost certain that you will be able to stream this season in 2023 itself, however, it might be in the latter half of the year.
But if you have waited three years, what’re a few more months anyway! Speaking of streaming, Black Mirror Season 6 will be available to exclusively stream on Netflix, and this just seems like Netflix’s way of trying to make up for all the canceled shows.
It has been rumored that Black Mirror Season 6 will have more episodes than season 5 which only had three episodes. Maybe Black Mirror Season 6 will have six episodes to make up for the lost time.
We did mention earlier that each episode will be treated like an individual movie, and we’re hoping this means that the run time of each episode is at least an hour. You simply just can’t get enough of this show!
It is too soon for a trailer at this moment, but hopefully once production for Black Mirror Season 6 wraps up, there will be a teaser, and once we have a fixed release date, will be able to estimate when the official trailer will be available for our viewing.
Since it’s an anthology series, you will only be able to catch little glimpses of every episode. Nevertheless, we will keep you posted with any updates.
We’re just as surprised as you are, Black Mirror Season 6 is finally happening, after years of thinking that we’d never be able to see a new Black Mirror episode again, or anything like it.
But Charlie Brooker and Netflix did not disappoint. While we’re at it, do let us know in the comments which your favorite Black Mirror episode has been so far, and what you are expecting from Black Mirror Season 6.
