Black Panther: Wakanda Forever – A Mesmerizing Tribute
Chadwick Boseman’s death came as a shock to his fans, as well as everyone in Hollywood. People all across the globe were devasted because of this loss. He suffered from cancer and only his closest people knew about it. To the media and his fans, Chadwick always tried to put on the bravest smile. His death posed a lot of questions about the future of Black Panther as well. Adjustments had to be made to the script of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, but it was always kept under wraps until the official trailer of the movie was released.
From the trailer, it was understood that they wouldn’t be replacing Chadwick Boseman with a different actor, which seemed like the best decision, considering the fact that he was simply irreplaceable. In the movie, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, T’Challa’s death has been portrayed as similar to Chadwick’s death, and Ryan Coogler, the director, was kind enough to run this decision by Chadwick’s wife, who was emotional yet grateful about this.
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever has flashbacks of Chadwick Boseman’s character, King T’Challa, as well as a mural of him painted on the walls of Wakanda. His funeral was truly one of the most visually striking scenes in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. In addition, the Marvel logo at the start of the movie, which normally features all characters, this time only featured Black Panther and it was truly an iconic moment. This movie has paid homage to Chadwick Boseman and proven his importance and loss to the world, the MCU, and Hollywood.
An Ensemble Cast Like No Other
The first Black Panther movie in 2018 gained recognition because of the black excellence that consumed the movie in the best way possible, and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever has upped the ante, which we didn’t even think was possible. We had several cast members reprising their roles, like Letitia Wright, Angela Bassett, Danai Gurira, Winston Duke, Lupita Nyong’o, Martin Freeman, and Florence Kasumba. While fans were thrilled to see their favorites return, the new characters also added a lot of charm.
One of the main characters of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever was Namor, played by Tenoch Huerta. This character has introduced a new charm and tribe to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. If Namor was put against Aquaman, we’d place our bets on Namor.
Apart from Namor, Tony Stark fans were very pleased with the introduction of Riri Williams AKA Iron Heart, played by Dominique Thorne. She’s young, funny, sassy, and far too good at tech.
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever also introduced Aneka, a part of the Dora Milaje, played by none other than Michaela Coel. This character is also queer, and Ayo’s love interest, even though their interaction in the movie was brief, the comic fans definitely noticed it!
Lastly, let’s not forget two very important cameos. First, Michael B Jordan reprised his role as Killmonger. Although he isn’t alive, he did visit Shuri on the astral plane. Fans were hoping for a cameo from Jordan, and we’re very thrilled about it. Next, we have Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, played by Julia Louis-Dreyfus. We know she’s the bad guy, but her appearances in Phase 4 are a setup for the Thunderbolts movie!
Black Panther Will Return
If you’re a Marvel fan and stayed until the very end of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, you already know that Black Panther will return. There have been no dates confirmed, but we have a feeling that T’Challa’s son will play a huge part in it (we do hope you stuck around for the post-credit scene!) Fans can’t wait to see more of Shuri, and more importantly, maybe next time around, Shuri and Namor work together when the US Government attacks either of them. We’ll make sure we keep you posted about any updates regarding a future Black Panther movie!
Conclusion
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever was an experience of a lifetime. There are stunning visuals, a beautiful background score, mesmerizing costumes and props, and much more. It was more than what anyone could have possibly expected from the movie. There’s no doubt that Black Panther: Wakanda Forever will go down as one of the best Marvel movies!
Rest in peace, Chadwick Boseman. Wakanda Forever!
