In the previous episode, Mukouda, after submitting the ears of goblins to the Guild, gets invited by the Guild’s leader for a discussion. The Guild’s leader offers him to increase his rank to C only if he promises to do the jobs he will assign.
Mukouda, at first, feels suspicious but finally gives in to the leader’s request. Mukouda takes out the ingredients; that he hunted before but couldn’t give to the butcher because of their high rarity.
The next day he receives a handsome sum of coins for the ingredients, and the Guild master assigns him the quests. The two tasks were to hunt a metal lizard and bloody horn bulls. Before venturing out for the hunt, Mukouda visits the merchant’s shop (whose life Mukouda saved during one of his travels).
There he buys equipment like bags, weapons holders, shoes, etc. Mukouda gets them for free from the merchant; as the story ends, we see the merchant requesting Mukouda to get the serpent’s skin to him rather than submitting it to the butcher. The story continues in the Campfire Cooking in Another World With My Absurd Skill Episode 10.
The Campfire Cooking in Another World With My Absurd Skill Episode 10 starts with Mukouda and his familiars embarking on a thrilling quest (not for Mukouda, though).
Mukouda, being a coward, tries to avoid battling against monsters, so he asks Fenrir to take care of it. As they enter the cave, they see glowing magical ores; the visuals are beautiful and soothing to the eyes. It may be your next destination for the holidays.
Just kidding! Fenrir tells Mukouda that the metal lizard has evolved by eating magical ores, and its body will diffuse magic.
Oh boy! just after saying it would be difficult, Fenrir finishes off the lizard with just a blink of an eye, and the way the script was planned, along with the sudden changes in the scene, was fun to watch.
There are better parts than this. After hunting the lizard, they head out to hunt the bulls. Once again, Sui’s will to fight and her lovely voice melt into our ears, making us forget everything around us.
Fenrir and Sui overdo the hunt by finishing off the whole herd of bulls. After hunting, they eat food, and we see the appearance of “Pepsi” in the fantasy world. Carbonated drinks surely go great with all kinds of meals, and when you give it to someone who has never tasted it, it would feel like an elixir dropped from heaven for him. burp
The guild’s butcher and the Guild master were left perplexed by Mukouda and his familiar’s accomplishments. The guild master shares that ore-type lizards are extremely rare; the last time it was hunted was 400 years ago.
The guild master tells Mukouda that he will receive 5000 coins for the animals, but ironically, instead of feeling happy, Mukouda cries. Mukouda wants to live a peaceful life, unlike us, who chase success, power, and money.
The beautiful portrayal of people’s desire for stability rather than a luxurious life tells much about life. Later on, we see the appearance of new characters. Have you forgotten the water goddess who keeps asking for offerings for the blessings she has shared with Mukouda? Well, the secret got out, and other goddesses are desperate to get their hands on this out-of-the-world food.
After much bickering and arguments, the goddesses try to convince Mukouda to take up their blessings as he has more affinity for fire and earth than air. It’s not like Mukouda had any other choice, so he accepts the blessings.
The last water goddess, who looks the youngest and cutest of all, starts crying when she realizes that her powers are incompatible with his; then, to make her feel better, Mukouda asks the water goddess to share her blessings with Sui instead.
The blessings part was hilarious, but what comes next is far unexpected. We see that Mukouda’s mana and power have increased, but Sui becomes so overpowered that she could even break a stack of trees with one go.
Sui has become the most powerful; and adorable character in the series. The character development and each story are undoubtedly mind-blogging. The episode ends with Mukouda using his earth magic to build a home for them to relax.
Yes, the anime does not have edgy battles or darkness that one anticipates, but one thing is for sure it’s entertaining to watch their dill-dally and enjoy the small stories.
We needed the entry of new characters to keep things going, and they should introduce some strong villains for a change because repeating the same overpowered concept may not always work as it did for One Punch Man.
