Chris Rock has created history by featuring in Netflix’s first-ever live-streamed event which is now available to watch whenever you wish to press play and have a good laugh.
Yes of course we are talking about Chris Rock: Selective Outrage, because this stand-up comedy special is making all the headlines for some very interesting reasons. When you think about Chris Rock, the first thing that comes to your mind is that slap delivered by Will Smith.
It’s been a year since that incident, and Chris Rock chose this platform to address it. Some are entertained, the others have found it mediocre, but still, mildly entertaining.
Chris Rock: Selective Outrage isn’t all about Will Smith though, in fact, he saves that part for the very end because he knows it’s the bait that everyone has been looking forward to. Through his act, he makes some very valid points; frankly,
we found it hilarious! From personal anecdotes to his hate for Lulu Lemon, here’s everything we loved about Netflix’s latest comedy special, Chris Rock: Selective Outrage.
There’s one thing we love about stand-up comedians is that they don’t always hold back while performing, whether that’s in a bar with ten people, or on the biggest streaming platform with millions watching. Chris Rock: Selective Outrage was all about Rock not holding back.
He let loose in this comedy special and hit the nail on the head, over and over again, delivering some brilliant jokes while roasting some very popular people. It was a risky move on Rock’s part, but now that he’s already been slapped by Will Smith, he probably has convinced himself that the worst has already happened. Unless he gets sued, of course.
Chris Rock: Selective Outrage packed a punch, and it had some incredibly hilarious moments that had us doubling down with laughter. As the title suggests, Chris Rock: Selective Outrage was all about selective outrage and how frustrated Rock is about this phenomenon that seems to have plagued the United States of America.
He is tired and trusted by the state of his country, and the one thing that bothers him the most is how Americans might be addicted to opioids, but right now, the biggest addiction they face is attention!
We’ll have to admit that one of our favorite parts was when Rock actually went on to explain how and why people are so addicted to attention, and how Megan Markle talked about she wasn’t aware of just how racist the royals are.
Rock found it shocking that Markle didn’t know they were racist considering they were the “og racists” with all the colonization and slavery.
His words, not ours, but we might be on the same page as Rock. We are certain Markle won’t be responding to Chris Rock: Selective Outrage, but if she does, we would love to hear what she has to say!
After Chris Rock: Selective Outrage, if there are two celebrities that we know Chris Rock loves and appreciates, it has to be Kris Jenner and Beyonce, for all the right reasons. Obviously, he appreciates the talent but he has us convinced that there’s no woman as gorgeous as Beyonce, and no human as welcoming as Kris Jenner. As we said, he made some very valid points in this stand-up special!
Chris Rock covered topics that we never thought he would on a platform this big. From calling OJ Simpson a murderer to talking about how Robert Kardashian was cursed by God for saving Simpson, it was an absolute hoot.
Chris Rock: Selective Outrage isn’t for anyone who gets easily offended, we can tell you that. We’ve talked plenty about the celebrities he’s talked about, but we haven’t even gotten to our favorite part of Chris Rock: Selective Outrage.
Chris Rock tells us a story about his daughter Lola, someone that he is now incredibly proud of, but that wasn’t always the case. He admits how spoilt his kids always were, from biting others to getting kicked out of high school.
Chris Rock knows how to tell a story, and he does it, unlike any other comedian we have seen in recent times. Chris Rock is a proud black man, who has come a long way from barely making it to the rides at Disneyland to getting high with Goofy.
We won’t spoil it all for you, but we highly recommend watching Chris Rock: Selective Outrage, if you haven’t already.
Chris Rock waits until the very end of the comedy special to address the one incident that everyone had been wanting to hear about. The Will Smith slap. This was trending for the longest time, and people are still talking about it.
There were a lot of issues and drama that we won’t get into here, but Chris Rock definitely skims over it all in Chris Rock: Selective Outrage, and the build-up to that segment is truly something to look forward to.
The internet has some mixed feelings about this part of the special, so we would love to know in the comments where you stand on it!
Overall, Chris Rock: Selective Outrage had some great moments. He won’t just make you laugh, but he will also make you think, and if you’re an American, he will most definitely give you a lot to ponder over. Seeing Chris Rock in his element is always a pleasure, and it’s even funnier when he talks about how big Will Smith is compared to him. But, we’ll let you watch Chris Rock: Selective Outrage to witness the rest of that joke.
So if you’re not easily offended and need a good laugh this week, then Chris Rock: Selective Outrage is the way to go. If you’re a fan of Megan Markle, Elon Musk, Will Smith, or OJ Simpson we’d recommend skipping a few jokes, but it’s all in good measure, or at least that’s what we hope.
Last but not the least, Rock also addresses abortion and the abortion ban. Of course, he takes a funny spin on it while also reminding his audiences and viewers that women should be allowed to do absolutely anything they want with their bodies, and he’s happily paid for some abortions too! Rock is definitely going to face some heat now that Chris Rock: Selective Outrage is officially available to stream.
So, if you want to see that drama unfold, Twitter is the place to be, but we simply recommend enjoying this comedy special!
If you’ve reached the end of this article, we hope you’re already streaming Chris Rock: Selective Outrage or have at least added it to your list.
We would love to read comments about your thoughts on this unique comedy special!
