One of the most unexpected and refreshing character returns in Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe was of Matt Murdock aka Daredevil. He first appeared in Spider-Man: No Way Home, presenting himself as Peter Parker’s attorney after the world found that Peter was Spider-Man.
We also saw Daredevil return in the Disney+ series She-Hulk, and fans agreed, that Daredevil was the best part of that series, despite the small part he played in it.
What we do know about Marvel is that when it gives certain characters these small roles in movies and series, that most likely means that something big is about to happen for that character, which brings us to one of the most anticipated titles of Phase 5 of the MCU, Daredevil: Born Again.
Daredevil: Born Again will be written by Matt Corman and Chris Ord, and this will be their first-ever project with Marvel Studios, so it will be interesting to see how they handle Daredevil and the entire series.
Daredevil: Born Again is set to be one of the longest and biggest projects by Marvel Studios, which means the fans will have plenty to look forward to.
We are still unsure about how this fits into the timeline, but hopefully, we learn more about it as we near the release date.
So far, here’s everything you need to know about Daredevil: Born Again, from the speculations to the release dates, we’ve got you covered!
Just announced in Hall H:

This link takes us to Marvel’s official page where they talk about Daredevil: Born Again. Did you click on the link? Did you see that there were no plot details whatsoever? Well, that’s just how secretive Marvel is about Daredevil: Born Again, and we don’t blame them.
It’s going to be a big project, and giving away too many details in advance might ruin the anticipation and fun for the fans, who have waited years for another Daredevil series.
The production for Daredevil: Born Again will start sometime in 2023, so hopefully we will learn a little more about it then. However, we won’t let you leave without any information!
While we don’t know much about the plot, the title suggests that this version of Daredevil will be something we haven’t seen before. The villain of Daredevil: Born Again has been confirmed too, and it is none other than Kingpin.
We might catch a glimpse of Kingpin in the upcoming Disney+ series Echo, and we might just see Daredevil there too. Maybe Echo will lead us into what might happen between Daredevil and Kingpin in the future.
That’s one theory, and that’s our theory for now, with the limited information that we have. Daredevil: Born Again will move away from the Daredevil we are used to seeing on Netflix, and although the character is the same, there will be significant tonal differences to look forward to.
The one thing that fans need to remember is that Daredevil: Born Again will not be a continuation of the Netflix series. It isn’t season 4. It is officially Daredevil: Born Again Season 1.
The “born again” in the title should be taken literally. However, you will still see Matt Murdock as Daredevil, just a little differently than what you might be used to. We hope that this series will show Murdock fighting the good fight while also dealing with Kingpin.
This is the reboot we didn’t know we needed, but now, with more superheroes, with more budget and Marvel Studios getting closer to the Marvel comics, it will be one hell of a journey.
For us, and for the fans, there’s no one else who can play Matt Murdock other than the very charming Charlie Cox. We’re in luck because Cox will be reprising his role for the upcoming series, Daredevil: Born Again, and has expressed his gratitude and excitement for how this series is going to pan out and be different from anything that the fans have seen before.
Another confirmed cast member is Vincent D’Onofrio, who will be reprising his role as Kingpin. He was last spotted in the Hawkeye series, but we have a feeling we might see him in Echo, along with Daredevil, before his role in Daredevil: Born Again.
While these two are the only confirmed cast members so far, we can expect to see a few more actors and actresses in Daredevil: Born Again. There have been several casting rumors buzzing around since Daredevil: Born Again was announced, and two of these include Alaqua Cox aka Echo, and Tatiana Maslany aka She-Hulk.
Daredevil has evident ties with both these women, and considering the fact that this series will be longer, many characters can appear at several points in the show.
Again, this hasn’t been confirmed, but fans are hoping to see some characters from the previous Daredevil series, which is currently available on Netflix, to reprise their roles for Daredevil: Born Again.
It is only a matter of time before Marvel Studio unveils more characters and gives us some concrete information on what to expect, and more importantly, whom to expect.
In the Phase 5 timeline, Daredevil: Born Again is certainly not one of the early projects, which might be a little disappointing, but if you’ve waited this long, might wait for just a little more. Daredevil: Born Again is slated to release in the spring of 2024, so it’s less than two years, and that’s our silver lining.
Daredevil: Born Again will exclusively stream on Disney+ with weekly episodes, which might be a little difficult for the viewers since it is rumored to have 18 episodes.
We’re hoping they release 2 episodes every week, but you never know. Nevertheless, Matt Murdock will return, so that’s one less thing you need to worry about.
Because production hasn’t fully begun for Daredevil: Born Again, we don’t have a trailer or even a teaser. But we will keep you posted when it releases.
However, if you’re in dire need to see Daredevil, we suggest rewatching that one scene of Spider-Man: No Way Home and Episode 8 of She-Hulk.
Daredevil has been a fan favorite for the longest time now. He isn’t a part of the Avengers, and neither is he a crazy supervillain.
But now, will his proper entry into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, things are about to get a lot more interesting for this character.
Are you just as excited about seeing Daredevil: Born Again as we are?
