Those who want to get a little recap of Dr. Stone can just read the plot that we have shared. In 2019, all humans get fossilized by a mysterious flash and they get frozen for more than 3000 years until a 15-year-old prodigy named Senku Ishigami breaks free of fossilization and realizes that human civilization has ceased to exist. Senku starts studying petrification and tries to find a cure.
After 6 months of Senku’s revival, Taiju Oki wakes up and they discover the secret behind the revival of humans from petrification. They instantly develop a cure together and revive a high school martial artist named Tsukasa and Taiju’s crush Yuzuriha Ogawa to bring back human civilization again.
The tables get turned when Tsukasa opposes Senku’s scientific civilization and pursues the “survival of the fittest” approach instead. Tsukasa dreams of building a world without science and extorts the revival formula and murders him. Later, we see that Senku is alive and begins building up an army to defeat Tsukasa and use the revival formula to free others.
In Season 2 we witnessed that Senku’s army won against Tsukasa and learned that Senku’s adopted father left precious metals somewhere, which can be used as a catalyst to produce an enormous quantity of the revival formula. In the one-hour special episode, we saw that Senku and his friends made it to the Ishigami village safely using a hot air balloon.
The Dr.Stone Season 3 will continue from where it left and it will cover from chapter 90 onwards, the anime will adapt ten chapters (Treasure Island arc). In this new arc, Senku will discover more about his father and during their stay, Senku and his friends will discover the truth behind petrification as well. But the cost of finding the truth will be expensive as Senku’s friends will get petrified!
