While some were expecting it, others were hopeful. Nevertheless, all the viewers were thrilled to find out that Elite had been renewed for another season, which only meant one thing, more drama! Who doesn’t love some good old drama and one more year at Las Encinas? Although Elite Season 6 was confirmed last year, filming only began earlier this year. So as the months have gone by, we have learnt a little more about this beloved show.
Elite was first released in 2018, and even though this was a Spanish show, it garnered fans all over the world. Fans have been hooked on the different storylines and characters, and have wanted a new season every single year. Teen dramas generally tend to do well because they are relatable, and we hope that Elite Season 6 will be the same. Here’s everything that we know so far, from the plot to the cast, and other details:
One would think that 5 seasons is enough to narrate the stories of a bunch of teenagers, but that isn’t the case with Elite. There’s something about this show that keeps us wanting more and the creators are ready to deliver. Season 5 of Elite ended on a very shocking note, it was the perfect bait for the fans to crave more. So hopefully, season 6 gets the job done! Although we don’t have too many details about the plot yet, we can gauge some guesses based on the ending of season 5 and what that might mean for some characters and subplots in Elite Season 6.
Is it hot in here?

Elite Season 6 will showcase Las Encinas trying to turn over a new leaf after some traumatic events as a new year begins. New year, also means new students and new drama. This season of Elite is also meant to take a slightly political turn, dealing with issues ranging from racism to homophobia and even transphobia. There’s a reason this show is deeper than other teen dramas, and this season will prove exactly that. Although everything is slightly vague still, what we do know is that Samuel won’t be returning for the new season as the synopsis confirms his death. You can read more about it here.
Now, this might be a little disappointing for the fans, but hopefully, everyone manages to see the silver lining. There will be certain cast members who won’t be returning for the new season, however, that also means that there will be several new and talented cast members joining the show. The new cast members include Carmen Arrufat, Álvaro de Juana, Ana Bokesa, Alex Pastrana, and Ander Puig, who will join as new students. In fact, Ander Puig will officially be Elite’s first trans cast member, which is a big step in the right direction.
Some other favourites from the previous seasons will be back, however, Elite season 6 will be the first season to not feature any characters from seasons 1 to 3. Sadly, Elite and the viewers will be bidding goodbye to Itzan Escamilla who played the role of Samuel. Some fans were desperately hoping for a miracle that would lead to his return to the series, however, that wasn’t the case. In fact, in this tearful post by Elite’s official Instagram, they confirmed Samuel’s death.
Lastly, we do hope to see some series regulars back for Elite Season 6, and these might include André Lamoglia, Carla Díaz, Martina Cariddi and a few others.
Elite has been very consistent with rolling out new seasons for its fans. From 2018 up till 2022, they have managed one new season every year. Now, for the first time in the history of Elite, there will be two seasons in the same year. Production for seasons 5 and 6 was continuous, which can only mean that the release wouldn’t be too far apart. The creators clearly don’t want to keep the fans waiting, especially after a shocking season finale in season 5. Elite is officially releasing on the 18th of November in 2022, and all episodes will be available to stream on Netflix.
A show releasing two seasons in the span of one year is an extremely rare phenomenon, so make the most of it while you can.
So far we have the official date announcement which was released by Netflix about a month ago. This announcement also serves as a teaser for Elite season 6. Since we are nearing the premiere date, the chances are that the official trailer can drop any time now. The response over the teaser has been a mixed one so far.
While viewers are grateful for another season so soon, they can’t help but notice the absence of some of their favourite characters. Elite season 6 will really have to be great in terms of plot, drama and bringing in new characters to make up for the loss.
The jury is still out on this one, and there has been no official news on whether season 6 will be the last one. Although fans would like to see more of their favourite characters and stories, they also don’t want the show to stretch to a point where it loses its meaning. Maybe 6 truly is the perfect number. Considering how quickly Elite has been rolling out its new seasons, it won’t be long until we hear about season 7! Would you want another season?
Elite has secured a place for itself as one of the most anticipated teen dramas, especially one that has been filmed in a foreign language. Netflix has supported this series from the get-go and so have the fans. It will be interesting to see what Elite has in store for the fans, and it isn’t long until we find out. Do let us know in the comments what you think about it!
