One of the most binge-able teen dramas was introduced to us in June 2019, and frankly, the world hasn’t been the same since, and we are not even exaggerating. Euphoria Season 1 premiered in 2019, followed by a second season earlier this year, and people haven’t stopped talking about it. Whether it is the sensitive topic of drug addiction in teens, stellar acting, or glamorous outfits and make-up looks, there was something for everyone to talk about, and so they did, which made the existence of Euphoria Season 3 practically a no-brainer. Albeit, this generation can be a little impatient, and often paranoid about their favorite shows being canceled, but hopefully, they don’t have to worry about that with Euphoria.
Euphoria turned out to be one of the most successful shows in recent years, and we don’t always expect that from teen dramas. However, Euphoria was loved by fans and has been critically acclaimed too, making it extremely popular amongst different age groups. Here’s everything you need to know about Euphoria Season 3 because we know how curious you are! So buckle in as we walk you through renewal news, speculated plot, cast, and much more:

First things first, let’s get the most frequently asked question out of the way. Euphoria Season 3 has officially been confirmed, so that’s one less thing that the fans need to worry about. In fact, the filming for Euphoria Season 3 is meant to begin sometime in February 2023, and we’re keeping our fingers crossed for some behind the scene clips or photos around Valentine’s Day, because what’s more romantic than Maddy trying to sabotage Nate and Cassie? Even if Euphoria Season 3 hadn’t been officially confirmed, we could have seen this season coming to our screens from miles away because HBO would have to have a million reasons to cancel one of its most-watched shows since Game of Thrones.
Yes, that’s how popular Euphoria is. Nevertheless, Euphoria Season 3 is officially happening, so you can start getting your glitter on and brace yourself for a whole lot of drama as we explore what might happen in the upcoming season.
The only criticism that Euphoria Season 2 faced was from the fans who were upset about the unfinished storylines of some of their favorite characters. So, we’re hoping Euphoria Season 3 answers any and all questions that the fans have been dying to know the answers to. Everyone, including us, had some very mixed feelings about the ending of Season 2 and our best guess is that Euphoria Season 3 will pick up straight from the events of the finale. If you haven’t watched Euphoria yet, firstly, why not? It is available to stream worldwide, and secondly, there might be some spoilers ahead, so beware.
Euphoria Season 2 saw the death of a beloved character, Ashtray, which leaves is broken-hearted for Fezco, who couldn’t make it to Lexi’s play and got arrested too. The season finale was the most explosive episode in many ways and kept everyone on the edge of their seats. We need to know what happens to Fezco, and maybe there is still some hope for Lexi and him. While there are several couples in this teen drama, the couple that fans have rooted for the most have been Lexi and Fezco, who are a prime example of opposites attract. Euphoria Season 3 needs to have more Lexie and Fezco moments.
Speaking of the finale and Lexie’s play, we cannot forget the explosive confrontation between Maddy and Cassie over Nate and the deception from Cassie’s side. While fans loved Cassie’s make-up and fashion sense, they have all been team Maddy, and honestly, so are we. Maddy’s character development over the two seasons has been impeccable and we can only hope that continues in Euphoria Season 3. It will be interesting to see how the Cassie-Nate-Maddy drama continues to play out in the upcoming season, but something tells us that Cassie isn’t going to be very happy in Euphoria Season 3. Could there be some room for redemption? We sure hope so!
Speaking of Nate, he became a rather villainous character in both seasons, with lying, cheating, and scheming, and a lot of that can be blamed on his upbringing. However, Nate finally made a bold decision at the end of Season 2, and now we just have to wait and see how that plays out in Euphoria Season 3. Also, our gut feeling tells us that Nate could possibly be heading away from Cassie and toward someone new altogether!
Lastly, and most importantly, the main focus of the show will be Rue. This character has been through the biggest rollercoaster ride in the last two seasons and seeing her struggle with drug addiction, and recovery, while still grieving her father’s death, has truly been an emotional experience for everyone. Rue is finally coming to terms with herself and the relationships that she surrounds herself with, and it’s only a matter of time before we see how things for her play out in Euphoria Season 3. We’re wholeheartedly rooting for Rue.
The casting of Euphoria has been one of the most iconic things about this show, and the intense performances delivered by the cast have truly stuck with us. On the front and center, we have Rue, played by none other than Zendaya. Undoubtedly, Zendaya is one of the most popular actresses in the industry right now, and her performance as Rue has truly been something else, and we don’t believe anyone else would have been able to pull this off, but her. Zendaya will be reprising this role for Euphoria Season 3.
Other Season 2 regulars will be returning for Euphoria Season 3 and reprising their roles, and that includes Hunter Schafer, Sydney Sweeney, Nika King, Eric Dane, Jacob Elrodi, Chloe Cherry, Maude Apatow, Storm Reid, Dominic Fike, Angus Cloud amongst others.
The one cast member whose return has been questioned is Barbie Ferreira as Kat. Fans didn’t love her character for obvious reasons and there have been rumors that she won’t be returning for Euphoria Season 3 and neither will she be recast. Maybe this will make room for some new characters and a possible love interest.
We know everyone is anxious and curious about when they will be able to see their favorite characters return for Euphoria Season 3, however, we don’t have an official release date just yet. The first season premiered in 2019, and there was a significant gap between seasons 1 and 2 because the 2nd season premiered in 2022. This delay in production and release happened because of the pandemic, and now if we take the pandemic out of the equation, hopefully, we can see Euphoria Season 3 towards the end of 2023 or early 2024!
As of now, there is no trailer for Euphoria Season 3 since filming hasn’t begun yet. Although, keep an eye out for any first looks or behind-the-scenes from February onwards, as that’s when they are going to start filming. We should have an official trailer closer to the release date, and we will keep you posted!
Euphoria Season 3 will bring us more drama, more tears, and definitely some more background music for us to jam with. There are a lot of missing puzzle pieces regarding the upcoming season, but hopefully, we will learn more about it as the time draws closer to the release. Until then, if you haven’t watched the first two seasons of Euphoria, we highly recommend watching it right away, and, if you have watched the seasons, we recommend another binge!
