On September 28-30, 2017 the OPEN Media Hub is organising an Advanced Print and Online training for reporters in Yerevan, Armenia. This is a three-day news production-orientated course designed to expand industry relevant skills of the participants from print and online media. Thematically the production will be targeted at topical issues and developments in high impact EU related story areas, matching skills needs to stories, strengthening institutional and individual capacity to deliver quality EU coverage at critical moments. The training will be delivered by the OPEN Media Hub consultant Elena Gabrelian and will cover the following areas of expertise:
Advanced research tools
Advanced visualization tools
Practical work with available advanced online reporting tools
Audio, video, infographics
Data team workflow
Using EU sources to find data
Handling User Generated Content
Effective social media usage etc.
Elena Gabrielian is a journalist and presenter at RFI, Paris. She covers French and international politics, with an emphasis on the post-Soviet countries including reporting from Ukraine, Russia, Moldova, Armenia, Georgia, Azerbaijan, etc. She’s an expert in online broadcasting (writing for the web, making web-documentaries, video content for the web, using social network for reporting, fact-checking on the web…) , and as a Radio and TV Journalist. Before joining RFI she has worked for Euronews and RFE/RL.
