On November 22-24, 2016 the OPEN Media Hub is organizing an Advanced Production Workshop for Broadcast Media in Tbilisi, Georgia. This training session will be carried out by Robert Parson, Chief Foreign editor at France 24 English. The training will be conducted in Georgian.
The training aims to produce stories, by putting into practice the skills set in real time for real output. This class will focus on all aspects of story telling and production. The participants will be asked to submit stories, related to EU issues in the application (see application button below). Each team consisting of a journalist and a cameramen should be able to come with their filming and editing gear, to work on their shooting /editing /scripting skills. These stories will be finalised during the training session and bemade available on the Open Media hub’s platform and website, for exchange between the participants locally and regionally.
Rob Parsons led the Broadcast Media Management Master Class in Tbilisi on June 28-30, 2016. He is the Chief Foreign editor at France 24 English. He joined the channel as an international affairs editor for the launch in 2006. In 2010 he moved to Georgia for 20 months to set up PIK TV, a 24-hour TV and internet news channel broadcasting in Russian throughout the Russian-speaking world. Robert worked 18 years for the BBC, including nine years as Moscow correspondent (TV and radio) from 1993 to 2002. As a reporter, Robert was sent to many countries (Iraq, Ukraine, Israel, and many others). He joined Radio Free Europe as director of the Georgian Service in 2003. Robert speaks English, Russian, Georgian and French.
