The Project OPEN Media Hub: Networking, on-the-job training and support to media professionals across the EU Neighbourhood area (EuropeAid/136510/DH/SER/Multi) is part of the European Union Programme OPEN Neighbourhood: opportunities, participation, engagement and networking” and is implemented by a consortium led by Thomson Foundation. The Consortium includes Action Global, European Journalism Centre, Free Press Unlimited, France Médias Monde, Ipsos Mori and Particip. The OPEN Media Hub project follows up on two previous EU funded projects – the Media Neighborhood and the European Neighbourhood Journalism Network.
On December 6-7, 2016 the OPEN Media Hub is organizing a Master Class in Broadcast Media Management for TV stations from Ukraine.
During the course participants will have the opportunity to work with the consultant on Practical issues related to their media such as:
Zoya Charles (Zoya Trunova) has been a journalist for more than 25 years. During that time she was a BBC television and radio news producer, covering stories around the globe. She worked in Russia, Ukraine, Afghanistan, USA, Israel and many other countries. After years travelling as a Newsgathering producer, she became a senior editor at the BBC in London, running a multimedia newsroom and later the BBC’s Global Video Unit which pioneered innovation in video gathering and multiplatform storytelling techniques. The unit was the first to use drone cameras for news aerial photography. Before joining the BBC, Zoya worked for Reuters TV as a video producer.
She also has extensive media and journalism training experience, including as the director of an Internews Journalism training school.
She lives in London.
