The Project OPEN Media Hub: Networking, on-the-job training and support to media professionals across the EU Neighbourhood area (EuropeAid/136510/DH/SER/Multi) is part of the European Union Programme OPEN Neighbourhood: opportunities, participation, engagement and networking” and is implemented by a consortium led by Thomson Foundation. The Consortium includes Action Global, European Journalism Centre, Free Press Unlimited, France Médias Monde, Ipsos Mori and Particip. The OPEN Media Hub project follows up on two previous EU funded projects – the Media Neighborhood and the European Neighbourhood Journalism Network.
Najib Bencherif has a long and distinguished career in the media industry, spanning for over three decades. He is currently the Senior Convergence Editor of Al Arabiya News Channel, MBC in charge of overseeing the integration of the channel’s three components: TV, website and social media. His experience in the field of print, radio and TV journalism includes reporting work for the Moroccan Newspaper “Al Maghrib”, the Moroccan News Agency “MAP”, editorial management of the Moroccan Newspaper “L’Opinion”, working as a broadcast journalist and producer at BBC World Service (French & Arabic), freelance producer at APTN & MBC and as the Head of Correspondents & News-gathering at “Al Arabiya TV” news channel. Najib Bencherif has been involved in numerous media trainings across the Middle East and North Africa including TV & Radio Production, Social Media, Print Journalism, Media Management, Interview Techniques and many others.
