“We are on the shores of the Caspian sea where over 200 people gathered to make this world cleaner.” Disposable dishes, bags, packages, plastic bottles and various containers. All this should not be on the beach. On the shores of the Caspian Sea in the village of Novkhani, people who are not indifferent to environmental pollution have gathered. The event was organized by the EU Delegation in Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Azerbaijan. People not only from Azerbaijan but also from other countries helped to clean the coast from the accumulated garbage. “I’m here to help. All over the world, people suffer from polluted beaches. I do not live here, but I had the opportunity to come and help.”
Every day we have an alternative: to buy a drink in a glass bottle or in a plastic bottle, take paper or plastic plates for a picnic, care for the environment or personal convenience? The choice is ours.
Carol Crofts – British Ambassador to Azerbaijan
“We are obligated to do something with plastic pollution. Each person can play their role in this movement. Each of us can refuse the use of disposable plastic items.”
Everything big starts small. Everyone can contribute to the future. Every year, hundreds of thousands of living creatures around the world suffer from pollution of water bodies and shores. We are in power to change it.
