Details: | A small group of women migrants in eastern Sicily gathers for a storytelling night event once a month to create bonds with the Sicilian host community. While preparing typical teas and coffees from their countries of origin, the women jumpstart conversations about their travels through the Mediterranean Sea. This helps Sicilians give a human face to the racist headlines and fake news spreading across social media, and realize the human toll behind the so called ‘migration crisis’ affecting this Southern European island in the past decade. |
