The first season of Freeridge is officially streaming on Netflix and everyone has thoughts about it. Of course, Freeridge was a lot different from On My Block, but friendships and relationships played a huge role in Freeridge as well. Although Freeridge was a spin-off series of sorts, it has held its own, and while the jury is still out for whether the series was a hit or miss, everyone wants to know whether or not there will be Freeridge Season 2, and we can help you a little here.
While there aren’t too many details about Freeridge Season 2 just yet, since Freeridge Season 1 was only released a few days ago, it doesn’t mean we can’t speculate because there were many answered questions towards the end of the first season. Has Freeridge Been Renewed for Another Season?
Without a doubt, this is the most important question in regard to Freeridge Season 2. Is it even happening in the first place? Well, we are hoping that Freeridge Season 2 happens because there are so many unanswered questions and we want to know more about what happens to our favorite and not-so-favorite characters in the future. However, as of now, Netflix hasn’t officially announced Freeridge Season 2, but we are hoping they do that soon enough because we are excited. Now, we know Netflix has a reputation for canceling series despite them being a success, but we are keeping our fingers crossed. If they could renew On My Block, we don’t see any reason why Freeridge wouldn’t deserve the same treatment. Hopefully, there is some concrete renewal news in the next couple of weeks when the viewership stats and critics’ reviews are out!
What Is The Plot of Freeridge Season 2?
Since Freeridge Season 2 has not been renewed yet, we don’t have any concrete plot details about the future of the show, but we can definitely speculate and you can also let us know in the comments what you want from Freeridge Season 2 and what you think might happen. As for us, we are almost certain that Freeridge Season 2 will pick up from the end of Season 1, which ended on a major cliffhanger. There was a gunshot, and someone is definitely dead. At least we know that Gloria, Ines, Demi, Rusty, and Cam have made it alive, but now they will have to spend Freeridge Season 2 trying to figure out what to do with a potentially dead body, and we are certain they will rely on the cursed box or some form of hijinks for this. Although the curse might have been lifted, clearly bad things haven’t come to an end for this particular friendship group, and we can’t help but wonder if worse things are in store for them.
One of the most important plotlines we know everyone is looking forward to is the relationship between Rusty and Gloria. This relationship started off perfectly, there was a little will they won’t they theme going around, and when they eventually did, it was brilliant. However, that ended on a sour note when Gloria found out that Rusty was paid to be her boyfriend. Nevertheless, she was ready to look past that because she knew deep in her heart that his feelings for her were real, but were they? Toward the end of the first season, Ines and Rusty shared two kisses, and one was passionate, and not what we were expecting. This is bound to cause a lot of clashes and problems in Freeridge Season 2, and we can’t wait to see how things pan out.
We love Mariluna’s character in season one, but the main question is, will she be around for another season? Could there be a war for Mariluna’s inheritance if she doesn’t make it, because the shot we heard at the end of season one along with her body going limp, definitely looks fatal to us. There are far too many unanswered questions, and that is why we need Freeridge Season 2 to happen as soon as possible.
The Cast of Freeridge Season 2
There are a few cast members that will surely return for Freeridge Season 2, and we are very thrilled about it. Keyla Monterroso Mejia and Bryana Salaz are bound to return as the chaotic sister duo, Gloria and Ines. We are also looking forward to Ciara Riley Wilson and Tenzing Norgay Trainor reprising their roles as Demi and Cam. Michael Solomon will definitely be an important role in Freeridge Season 2 because Rusty has a lot of explaining and truth-telling to do when it comes to Gloria and his relationship and the triangle that he has formed.
Peggy Blow’s return hasn’t been confirmed and by the looks of it, we don’t see her returning for Freeridge Season 2 after the ending of season one. It will be interesting to see which other cast members will reprise their roles for future seasons.
When and Where Can You Watch Freeridge Season 2?
Freeridge Season 2 will have to wait for a formal renewal from Netflix before we have an official release date for Freeridge Season 2, but hopefully, we will have some news in the coming weeks. If things go as planned, we can expect Freeridge Season 2 to drop on our screens in 2024, in the first half of the year. As of now, Netflix does have the rights to Freeridge, but if they decide to not renew it, it is entirely possible that another streaming service might swoop in based on the viewership and success of the show.
Is There a Trailer for Freeridge Season 2?
Just like the release date, we don’t have a trailer for Freeridge Season 2 right now either. However, as things progress, hopefully by this time next year, there will be a trailer to show for.
