What is the Plot of How I Met Your Father Season 2?
The general plot of How I Met Your Father is very similar to How I Met Your Mother, only this time around, instead of Ted telling his kids how he met their mother, we have Sophie telling her son about how she met his father. The difference is that Ted’s love story took place in a time that wasn’t bound to their phones and dating apps, so undoubtedly, How I Met Your Father is more relatable for today’s generation, and one of the reasons it’s gotten this popular. Circling back to the upcoming season, we have an official synopsis for How I Met Your Father Season 2 by Hulu:

The 30s have begun, which is about to bring about a whole lot of changes in Sophie’s life, as well as everyone else in the friendship group. We have a feeling that How I Met Your Father Season 2 will pick up right after the end of season one, which was definitely chaotic because a lot of things happened in the final episodes, which raises a lot of interesting questions that hopefully will be answered in How I Met Your Father Season 2.
For starters, Sid is married now, and that’s exciting, but will it be a long-distance marriage? Because from what we saw, a long-distance relationship was difficult for him to maintain. Next, we have Charlie and Valentina who broke up in the season finale, but can those two really stay broken up? Also, is it just us, or are Charlie and Valentina together a weird mix that totals to a Barney Stinson? Maybe it’s just us. Things are looking up for Ellen, with a date and a new job, maybe the city is finally being kind to her. And last but not the least, Sophie and Jesse. The premature ‘I love you’ definitely gave us flashbacks to Ted and Robin, and in the finale, Robin was actually around to advise Sophie, even though it didn’t work out. Jesse seems to have gotten back with his ex, and Ian is back! So, there’s a lot in store for How I Met Your Father Season 2 because we all need answers!
The Cast of How I Met Your Father Season 2
The cast of How I Met Your Father is an exciting one! Everyone has gotten attached to the cast from the first season, and we have some good news for you, they will all be reprising their roles for How I Met Your Father Season 2. Of course, in the front and center, we have Hillary Duff, who will be reprising her role as Sophie. This casting seems almost too perfect, and we couldn’t imagine anyone else in the role. Other cast members who will be reprising their roles for the upcoming season are Francia Raisa, Chris Lowell, Suraj Sharma, Tom Ainsley, and Tien Tran. These six cast members will comprise of the main friendship group, and we are thrilled to see them return for How I Met Your Father Season 2.
Of course, there will be supporting cast members, whether those are family members or love interests, we will have to wait and see. But we do know that Kim Cattrall will be returning for the new season as the future Sophie! It is always a pleasure seeing Cattrall on our screens, and hopefully, we get to see a little more of her in the upcoming season. Josh Peck is also slated to return for How I Met Your Father Season 2, and we’re keeping our fingers crossed for new characters as well because the one thing we loved about How I Met Your Mother was all the celebrity guest appearances!

How I Met Your Father Season 2 isn’t too far away now, as the season will be available on Hulu from the 24th of January. There will be new episodes every Tuesday, which means the show will continue well into Valentine’s Day as well. We sure hope there is an episode reserved just for that holiday! Although this hasn’t been officially announced just yet, How I Met Your Father Season 2 will have the same number of episodes are the previous season, which was 10, but we can hope for more!

The official trailer for How I Met Your Father Season 2 was released recently, and with over five million views already, fans are incredibly excited for the upcoming season. The general consensus is, that the first season was a little bland, to begin with, but as the show picked up the pace, it kept getting better and better, so viewers have high hopes for How I Met Your Father Season 2, and frankly, so do we. The trailer boasts some amazing laughs and the usual group of friends who have a lot going on for them. There are also a lot of new characters that have been teased in the trailer, and it will be interesting to see how they add to the lives of the core members of the friendship group.
