Ippon! Again Plot
The plot of Ippon! Again follows the story of Michi Sonoda, a Judoka who planned to quit the sport after the final Junior High Judo tournament. Michi’s friend Sanae invites her to continue the sports again in High School and then she meets other members. The story then shifts to five high schoolers who are determined to form a Kendo club.
But after the formation of the Kendo Club, they must also face off against rivals to keep their Kendo Club’s reputation going. The characters each coming off from different backgrounds embark on an exciting kendo adventure while honing their swordsmanship and skills as individual fighters.

Ippon! Again will be running 13 episodes in total; each episode will be of around 30 minutes in duration. Ippon! Again – A Short Review
Ippon! Again currently has a 6.7 rating (February 2023). I think Ippon! Again deserves a higher score because although it’s a shoujo kinda series revolving around sports with a niche-like plot I think the Judo fights and movements are praiseworthy. Even a non-martial arts student would feel compelled to watch the scenes.
Sports anime is very trendy nowadays but sadly, sports with female characters do not get much spotlight that they deserve, it could be because the percentage of female viewers is comparatively lesser than males which is the reason behind such a low rating. I think it is a great anime show and deserves at least a 7.5-star rating.
The series has captured the character’s personalities, struggles, and hardships in a very dedicated manner. Their insecurities about life experiences have been depicted well throughout the series.
The unique thing about this anime is that the characters seem to be more realistic as they have baby fat, chubby bodies instead of other female characters in anime who look unreal. I am not saying that other female anime characters are not good but the point I want to convey here is that it is refreshing to characters with imperfections and truer-to-life built bodies.
The animation and voice acting have been prepared well which tells us about the refined skills of the staff and cast members. This rock-solid anime should be on your watchlist if you are okay with female protagonists.

I hope that the ratings of Ippon! Again increases, but instead of me telling you the details it would be best if you watch it yourself. You must keep yourself unbiased towards the sports anime, or else you will find yourself criticizing each and everything in the anime.
