If you think of all the women in Hollywood and try to figure out who is the funniest amongst them, we believe one name often pops up in all our minds, and it is none other than Jennifer Coolidge. Think of your favorite movie or tv show, whether it is 2 Broke Girls, The Watcher, The White Lotus, Legally Blonde, or even American Pie, she’s been in all of them, with her exceptional and extraordinary performance, always making her fans laugh. Yes, we know The Watcher was a thriller, almost horror, and despite that, Jennifer Coolidge was like a ray of sunshine we needed in that series with her personality and storyline.
Coolidge has been around for over two decades now, and her acting style has always stood out to us when compared to other actors and actresses in Hollywood. Most recently, she appeared in The White Lotus Season 2 as Tanya and became everyone’s favorite character. So, we figured we would tell you a little bit more about her, from her net worth to her biography, to her dating history and more:
Jennifer Coolidge’s net worth is estimated at $6 million as of 2022. Although her career spans about 30 years, she is best known as a character actress, and a lot of her roles are supporting ones. Coolidge makes the most of her net worth, though, donating to charities supporting animal rights and AIDS assistance. However, we are almost certain that her performance in The White Lotus Season 2 will be increasing her net worth!
Jennifer Audrey Coolidge was born on August 28, 1961, in Boston, Massachusetts, and was raised in Norwell, Massachusetts, with her three siblings. While in school, Coolidge learn to play the clarinet, and she even attended orchestra camp for three summers. After graduating from the Cambridge School of Weston, she attended Emerson College in Boston and the American Academic of Dramatic Arts in New York City. Although she trained to be a dramatic actress, her career has led her down a more comedic path.
Coolidge began her career appearing in smaller, supporting roles, on television, and in movies. Beginning in 1993, she appeared on shows like Seinfeld and King of the Hill, as well as movies like A Bucket of Blood and A Night at the Roxbury. She connected with other comedians in Los Angeles through her improv and sketch troupe, The Groundlings.
Coolidge’s first major role came along in 1999 when she played “Stifler’s mom” Jeanine in American Pie. The early 2000s were busy for Coolidge, as she reprised her role as Stifler’s mom in American Pie 2 and American Wedding. Significantly, she portrayed the role of Paulette Bonafonté Parcelle, the manicurist, in both Legally Blonde and Legally Blonde 2: Red, White, & Blonde. In 2004, she played Fiona, the “evil” stepmother to Hilary Duff’s Samantha Montgomery in A Cinderella Story. She also worked on the NBC comedy series Joey, starring Matt LeBlanc as Joey Tribbiani. She played the role of Bobbie Morgenstern, Joey’s agent.
Coolidge’s first starring role was in 2007’s Epic Movie, in which she played the “White Bitch” of Gnarnia as part of a lampoon of The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. In 2008, she had a recurring role in the second season of the teen drama The Secret Life of the American Teenager, where she played a call girl turned fiancée of the main character’s boyfriend’s father.
Coolidge finally earned a dramatic role in 2009’s Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans. She loved the city of New Orleans so much while filming that she eventually purchased two homes there. In 2012, Coolidge once again reprised her role as Stifler’s mom in American Reunion. She began to perform stand-up comedy in 2011 and toured globally, reaching places like Australia and Scotland. From 2011 to 2017, she began a recurring role in the sitcom 2 Broke Girls as Sophie Kaczyński, and she was made a member of the main cast in 2002.
Coolidge starred in Like a Boss in 2020. She had a supporting role in Promising Young Woman and also appeared in the Netflix Christmas rom-com Single All the Way in 2021. Coolidge also has won a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie for her performance as Tanya McQuoid on HBO’s The White Lotus.
Jennifer Coolidge is a star who certainly prefers to keep her romantic life out of the press. We do know that, at some point, she dated her former co-star, American comedian Chris Kattan. The two met for the first time on the set of A Night at the Roxbury, and relationship rumors began to circulate in 2001. In his 2019 memoir Baby, Don’t Hurt Me, Kattan wrote, “Jennifer Coolidge was a tall, messy, sexy, tough, charmingly crass Boston native bombshell.”
Other than the above, no information has been confirmed, or even denied, about Coolidge’s love life. While on the Emmys red carpet, she was asked whom she’d want to “shoot her shot” with, to which she responded: “Well, I was very excited about somebody—I can’t say their name—but I found out today he’s dead.” In 2020, she also joked on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen that her role in the American Pie franchise also has encouraged her to try dating younger men. Besides all the jokes and little comments that she makes, from what we can tell, Coolidge prefers to keep her dating life private, and we don’t blame her for that. She has also been linked to Tom Mahoney, however, nothing has been confirmed and we believe those are just rumors and an attempt by the media to stir up some controversy.
Jennifer Coolidge’s parents were Gretchen, née Knauff, and Paul Constant Coolidge, who manufactured plastics for a living. She has three other siblings – a brother, Andrew, and two sisters, Elizabeth and Susannah.
Coolidge does not have any children, which she chalked up to being “barren” in an interview with BuzzFeed Celeb She has a rescue dog named Chewy, short for Chewbacca, whom she rescued from a meat factory in Korea.
There you have it, folks! That’s everything you need to know about the brilliant, versatile, and very funny Hollywood actress, Jennifer Coolidge. We hope we get to witness her talent and humor in more movies and shows in the future, but until then, do let us know what you want to think about her, and what’s your favorite Coolidge performance so far.
