KamiKatsu: Working for God in a Godless World Episode 1 has finally been released and it is considered one of the most anticipated anime among other anime like Dr.Stone and Konosuba. The episode was released on April 6 2023 and we have prepared an honest review of KamiKatsu: Working for God in a Godless World episode 1 so make sure to keep reading if you want to know more about KamiKatsu.
At first, we see a large group of naked muscular men performing some kind of ritual. At first, looked funny but; the humor did not last long as it was ruined by Yukito’s sad story. The character design was not at all satisfying.
I was expecting that the anime will be full of humor and action but; it was such a let-down for me. Among those naked men, Yukito’s dad says that he must believe in one God and is then thrown down a cliff. The story did not make any sense at all, but okay I thought to keep watching to find something enthralling.
While he drowns his life flashes back and he wishes for a world without a God, and it turns into reality. He wakes up only to find a girl strobing his gear (you know what I mean right?) but; No it does not turn into a total ecchi as later we find that the girl was just doing as the book said to heal him.
The girl’s name is Aruaru, and she becomes Yukito’s first friend. Yukito looking at his surroundings thinks that he is in a kind of isekai game where he could level up by being an adventurer and can become powerful. I think that’s what I expected too, but no it turns out that it’s just a normal world where people are living like villagers from a past life.
The more he stays the more he learns about the world, and we are introduced to more characters. Many a time, I felt that the character designs are not up to the level, plus the CGI was funny as hell. They need to work a lot on their CGI part or should just; avoid using it completely.
He feels happy in this world as Yukito gets to do things that he couldn’t do in his previous life but; something shocking is revealed when he visits the city.
As Yukito visits the city with other friends to check out the sex book he learns that, in this world, as people do not know God so, the life of people are decided by the countrymen, and they must end their life when ordered. Learning about such a method makes Yukito shudder, and then he starts asking more about the village to Aruaru.
Aruaru tells him that the village is looked down upon; by city people, because they are part of rejected/isolated camps that are against the idea of ending one’s life by vote. The plot is not so great or compelling to me, it feels childish, and I’d say isekai anime would have been better than this one.
The next day, Yukito learns that; Aruaru and others have been taken away by city people for execution as it’s their time to die has arrived. Yukito reaches the place but; hey he does not have any power remember? So he gets killed and his first friend Aruaru gets killed in front of him.
In his last breath, he prays to God to help him and others. The God named Mitama appears, I would say the appearance of Mitama was the only thing I liked in the whole episode then we see, Mitama reviving himself and his friends and engulfing all the evil people.
I don’t know about you but; episode 1 failed to entertain me. Let’s see what happens next in KamiKatsu: Working for God in a Godless World.
You can watch KamiKatsu: Working for God in a Godless World on Crunchyroll and people in Japan can watch the anime on their local TV channels.
If I had to sum up the story or the KamiKatsu: Working for God in a Godless World episode 1, then; I would say it’s boring and lacks a lot of elements. From character design; to story pacing, everything felt forced and not in line. I would suggest you watch something else rather than watching KamiKatsu: Working for God in a Godless World.
