This might come as a surprise to some people, but one of the most difficult genres to pull off, especially when it comes to series with multiple seasons is high school drama. Time and again, different creators and producers have attempted something new, something different, only to fail again after the first season, which is usually successful.
So it was no shocker that the audience wanted some good high school drama to watch, and that’s when the perfect series landed on everyone’s screens: One of Us is Lying.
The title gives off an ‘I know what you did last summer vibe, but we can assure you that One of Us is Lying is a lot more than just that. This series is fairly new as it was only released in 2021, but we already have two seasons, and the fans need more (and so do we).
One of Us is Lying isn’t just teen drama, but also has some major elements of suspense, mystery, romance, and most importantly, friendship, although not necessarily in the way you imagine.

Has One of Us is Lying Been Renewed for Season 3?
While this might not be the news you want to read right now, there is a silver lining. One of Us is Lying hasn’t been renewed for a third season just yet, but this is could because season 2 has only just ended, and Netflix is waiting for the viewership to roll in before they make any official announcement.
However, the silver lining is that we have more than enough reason, or should we say evidence in this case, to believe that One of Us is Lying Season 3 will most definitely be a thing.
Firstly, starting with the creator of the show, Erica Saleh, mentioned renewing One of Us is Lying for a third season because she wants to explore the darker evil lurking underneath the surface of Bayview.
Another reason we believe that One of Us is Lying Season 3 is bound to happen is because of how season 2 ended, but we will explore that in the next part of this article. So, although we don’t have official news just yet, it won’t be long before we hear renewal news.
Keep your fingers crossed and hope that Netflix doesn’t treat One of Us is Lying the same as it treated Fate: The Winx Club Saga or Warrior Nun.
What is the Plot of One of Us is Lying Season 3?
Before you proceed, this section might contain spoilers from seasons 1 and 2, so you have been warned. Now, moving along to the plot of One of Us is Lying Season 3, we don’t have an official plot just yet, but based on the previous season, and especially the last episode, we can definitely make some guesses.
One of Us is Lying season 2 had a lot to unpack. The series began with the death of Simon, but it has turned into something much bigger than anyone had imagined or expected and as it turns out, Simon dying wasn’t even the most sinister thing that happens in this series.
One of Us is Lying season 2 showed us more of the Murder Club aka Cooper, Bronwyn, Addy, Janae, Nate, and of course, Maeve, who was more of an honorary member. We also learn more about Jake and Fiona towards the end of the season, which has left us with far too many unanswered questions.
One of Us is Lying Season 2 finale has also teased two potential deaths, the first being Fiona, who seems to have had an allergic reaction, which is the best portrayal of irony, given how Simon died in the first episode of this series.
Who could have possibly poisoned Fiona? For all we know, it could have been Cole after making some empty promises of getting her out, because clearly, Fiona knew things about Jake that no one else but his family did.
The second death or at least a potential attempt to murder was teased at the very end, and the only hint we have was Bronwyn’s locket that Nate gave her. So, could it be either of them? Or, could Bronwyn be the killer? Either way, it doesn’t look like the murder club is going to graduate peacefully.
One of Us is Lying Season 3 will possibly deal with the aftermath of Fiona’s death if it actually happens, and the police trying to find a new suspect to pin everything on. Also, there could be another Simon Says scare for all we know, because the murder club simply can’t have a normal teen life.
Also, does everyone forgive Maeve in Season 3? That’s a burning question that we all need answers to. It will be interesting to see how twisted and sinister One of Us is Lying Season 3 can get compared to the previous seasons. Either way, as long as Nate’s pet lizard Stan lives, and Kris and Cooper are still together, the rest can figure things out for themselves.
The Cast of One of Us is Lying Season 3
We can expect most of the cast from One of Us is Lying season 2 to return for season 3, or at least that’s what we hope. Marianly Tejada, Cooper van Grootel, Annalisa Cochrane, and Chibuikem Uche will reprise their roles as Bronwyn, Nate, Addy, and Cooper because One of Us is Lying Season 3 would be incomplete without the Bayview four.
We can also expect to see more characters like Maeve, Vanessa, Janae, and Cole, who are played by Melissa Collazo, Sara Thompson, Jessica McLeod, and Joe Witkowski. We believe these eight characters will be extremely crucial for the plot moving forward.
Although Barrett Carnahan’s character Jake has been dead for a while, we did see him reprise his role for the second season as a part of flashbacks, so maybe we can expect to see more of that in One of Us is Lying Season 3 as well, because there is a lot more to Jake’s story than we know.
Other side characters like Evan, Kris, Keely, detective Wheeler, Principal Gupta, and of course, the parents, are all expected to at least make an appearance in One of Us is Lying Season 3. We are also certain that the new season will introduce new characters, even though we don’t have a whole lot of information on that front just yet.
When and Where Can You Watch One of Us is Lying Season 3?
Since One of Us is Lying Season 3 hasn’t been confirmed just yet, we don’t have an official release date just yet. However, since season 1 was released in 2021, and season 2 in 2022, we can hopefully expect One of Us is Lying Season 3 to release sometime in 2023 if everything goes to plan on the production front.
The series is available to stream on Peacock, as well as Netflix, so make sure you get watching before you have to start preparing for the third season.
