The Pogues of Outer Banks are back after more than a year, and we can’t keep calm. After Outer Banks season 2 ended in July 2021, fans waited patiently for the return of their favorite drama series on Netflix. Everyone was thrilled to find out that the creators Josh Pate, Jonas Pate, and Shannon Burke were returning to Netflix with Outer Banks season 3. Since this is a drama series, season 2 had to end on a note which increased the anticipation for Outer Banks season 3, and that is exactly what has happened.
As we continue the journey with our favorite teenagers in the Outer Banks of North Carolina, we are keen to learn more about some old relationships that are coming into the light, along with some new ones that will be formed in Outer Banks season 3. Several themes are covered in this Netflix series, most of them pertaining to underprivileged American teenagers as we see a clear divide between the wealthy and the working class, and hopefully, we continue to see more of that and hopeful resolutions in Outer Banks season 3! Here’s everything you need to know about the upcoming season, from the plot to the cast, and much more:

Undoubtedly, Outer Banks season 3 will pick up from the end of season 2. We’re guessing the first maybe one or two episodes of Outer Banks season 3 will be dealing with the aftermath of season 2, and moving forward, the new season will explore more storylines while also focusing on the character arcs. So far, we know that Big John is alive, which will most definitely be a major plot line for Outer Banks season 3, but how they deal with this revelation is still a mystery. Rafe and Ward have committed some serious crimes, and fans are hoping that the upcoming season will show both of them dealing with the consequences. It is also possible that Rafe’s character might make a shift with the help of a redemption arc and learning more about who he truly is.
While these little things will add to a brilliant season, the theme of the show is all about finding treasure and we think that journey won’t stop in Outer Banks season 3! The director has confirmed that the characters won’t give up on finding the gold, and the treasure hunt is about to expand and only get bigger in Outer Banks season 3. Fans are also keeping their fingers crossed for a new Pogue as well as some new romantic angles which are always a favorite and a blissful distraction from all the bad things that happen to these characters on the show. Finally, something that we hope doesn’t happen but is also an inevitable part of every drama series is that Outer Banks season 3 might see the death of a major actor, and we’re talking about a real death! If you have any theories on who this character might be, let us know in the comments.
Over the span of the first two seasons of Outer Banks, fans have grown attached to the cast of this show, and that reflects in the increasing fan following of these cast members, especially on social media platforms like Instagram. So, it is only fair that we (and the fans, of course) would like to see our favorite cast reprise their roles for Outer Banks Season 3! Here’s a list of cast members you can expect to see in the upcoming season:
These cast members are some of the main characters whom Outer Banks season 3 will most likely revolve around, but that doesn’t mean we have forgotten the supporting cast and characters who help drive the narrative. The supporting cast members that are expected to return for Outer Banks season 3 are Austin North, Elizabeth Mitchell, Cullen Moss, Carlacia Grant, Caroline Arapoglou, and Gary Weeks. Although we are unaware of any new characters, it is entirely possible that some new cast members might join Outer Banks season 3, it is only a matter of time before we find out!
Outer Banks season 3 will be exclusively available to stream on Netflix. As for the release date, it might be a little later than you expected. Since the first season was released in 2020, the second in 2020, fans were convinced that Outer Banks season 3 would release sometime in the fall or winter of 2022. We still don’t have an official date, but Outer Banks season 3 is slated to release sometime in 2023, hopefully in the first half of the year! When we do have an official date, we will make sure we update this section and you can come back for any updates.
So far we have a teaser trailer for Outer Banks season 3 and all the fans who were worried about the show being canceled can now rest! The comment section of this teaser is filled with fans who are far too excited about Outer Banks season 3 and why wouldn’t they be? This trailer gives us a glimpse into what we can expect from the upcoming season, and so far, everything looks good, but we also know that is too good to be true.
We will have to wait for an official trailer to get a better idea of the good, bad, and ugly that we can expect from Outer Banks season 3!
Outer Banks is one of the most popular shows on Netflix and the response to this show has been overwhelmingly good. Outer Banks season 3 will hopefully receive the same reception as the other seasons, if not better, as it will dive deeper into the treasure hunt while also exploring the other themes that it has been so far.
