We have covered a lot of movies on this website so far, from a plethora of genres from romance to horror to even romantic horror. There is something for everyone here, but the one genre that tops them all is comedy. Whether or not you like watching movies often, you can’t shy away from a good comedy movie, and we have the perfect one coming your way.
Some of you might have heard of it, and for those of you who haven’t, we are here to fill you in and tell you all about the upcoming independent comedy movie, Paint. Paint will be directed by none other than Brit McAdams. McAdams might not be one of the biggest names in Hollywood, but after Paint, we have a feeling every might be talking about him. McAdams is best known for his movies like Katt Williams: American Hustle and Katt Williams: 9 Lives. He has a unique sense of comedy, and that will definitely shine through when it comes to Paint.
Paint is the kind of movie that we could tell you all about, but the true experience will shine through when you watch the movie.
However, until it releases, we need to make sure you are entertained and that your curiosity is at bay, which is why we’re here to tell you everything you need to know about Paint, from the plot to the cast to the release date and much more:

For some people when they think about paint or just paintings in general, artists like Van Gogh come to mind. However, a lot of people associate painting with Bob Ross. Bob Ross was one of the most famous painters, not necessarily for his paintings, but for the way he painted and the emotions of happiness and joy that he attached to it. He gained popularity after his show The Joy of Painting which ran for 31 seasons, which is more than The Simpsons, so that’s saying something. He gave people meaningful life advice along with tips and tricks on how to become an artist. He chose to share his secrets of art instead of keeping them close to his chest. While Bob Ross passed away after an untimely death, his legacy lives on even today.
In fact, people even dress up as his for costume parties and Halloween. Now, you might be wondering why we are going on and on about Bob Ross, well, it’s because the lead character in Paint is based on Bob Ross.
The main character of Paint is called Carl Nargle, who is the leading painter in Vermont, whether on the screen or off the screen, everyone knows him, and everyone loves him. The spotlight is on Carl for the longest time, but as they say, nothing good lasts forever, and that is exactly what happens when a younger painter comes along, stealing the spotlight which was once supposed to shine eternally on Carl. From all the love and fame to being side-lined, Carl doesn’t take this very well, which leads to his inevitable downfall, and that’s precisely the plot of Paint.
We did mention earlier that Brit McAdams has a unique style of comedy and storytelling, and you will witness that in Paint. Will Carl forever be deprived of everything and everyone he loves? What is going to make this independent comedy even funnier is the cast, and we’re going to tell you all about that in the next section, so make sure you stick around to find out!
The cast of Paint is going to be the cherry on top because of the lead actor who will be playing the role of Carl, and it is none other than the very funny and versatile, Owen Wilson. Wilson needs no introduction, but for those of you who don’t know him, you need to go ahead and watch some of his best work including Wedding Crashers, Zoolander, Night at the Museum, The Internship, and Marry Me. Most recently, people have recognized Wilson a little more after he appeared in the Loki series, which was his official debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Make sure you watch Loki Season 2 to see Wilson in action once he takes the Bob Ross wig off! In Paint, Wilson has completely embodied Bob Ross, and even though his name might be Carl, we know exactly who they are talking about.
While the focus will remain on Owen Wilson, other actors and actresses who will be joining the cast of Paint are Michaela Watkins, Wendi McLendon-Covey, Ciara Renée, Lusia Strus, Stephen Root, Lucy Freyer, Denny Dillon, Evander Duck Jr., and Will Blagrove. These are some of the funniest people around when it comes to movies, and we can’t wait to see the different roles they will play in Paint.
The official release date of Paint might still be a few months away, but it won’t be too long before you can finally witness this brilliant movie. Paint is also an important project for Brit McAdams because this is his biggest feature movie so far, so we highly recommend watching it when it releases. Paint is slated to release in the US on the 7th of April, 2023. The movie will be available to watch in theatres. The official release date for other countries might vary, but in the UK, and hopefully, worldwide, it should be out by the 28th of April.
The official trailer for Paint was released recently and everyone is going gaga over how much Owen Wilson looks like Bob Ross, and that is truly the highlight of the trailer. It also gives us a glimpse into the kind of comedy we can expect from the movie, and while it might not be everyone’s cup of tea, but it is definitely worth a watch. We are introduced to some of the characters as well, but the spotlight does remain on Owen Wilson, and he surely shines through.
We do recommend watching the trailer before you watch the movie, because if you are expecting a documentary about art, then you have come to the wrong place.
We have a feeling that by now you are convinced that you will be watching Paint this April, and if you have made that decision, then we are with you! We are extremely excited about this movie and would love to know in the comments what part of Paint are you looking forward to the most. Is it the art, the drama, or Owen Wilson with curly hair?
