When Rick and Morty season 6 began, everyone was thrilled about the return of their favourite show and were ready to dive into weekly episodes. This season so far has been a chaotic one with crazier plotlines emerging in every episode and just when the show was picking up pace and fans were gearing up for the final few episodes, Adult Swim made an announcement that disappointed everyone across the globe.
A six-week-long hiatus is not what fans had in mind and left everyone confused especially at the peak of season 6. However, the wait for the remaining episodes won’t be too long and hopefully, a hiatus means there’s something better in store. We’re here to tell you everything we know about when the show returns, what the following episode might entail, who the cast will be, and why this hiatus happened to begin with. So, sit tight as you dive in and learn everything you need to know about Rick and Morty Season 6 Episode 7:

Adult Swim hasn’t officially explained why they are going on hiatus, however, if you have been a fan of Rick and Morty, and someone who has followed every season, episode by episode, you will know that this isn’t out of the blue. Adult Swim has taken a hiatus before, especially with Rick and Morty. Almost all seasons of Rick and Morty have had a break somewhere in the middle or before the final episodes. Sometimes the break is a month-long, or in this case, six weeks long.
However, things could have been a lot worse. In 2019, when season 4 of Rick and Morty premiered, the show went on a hiatus for more than four whole months. So six weeks doesn’t seem a lot compared to seventeen weeks, so if anything, maybe the fans should count their blessings that the show will return in 2022 itself. There could be several reasons for a hiatus like this, but it is most likely because the creators want to stretch season 6 for a little longer. Nevertheless, Rick and Morty will be back soon!
Just like the first five seasons, this season of Rick and Morty will also have ten episodes, unless the creators change their plans which is unlikely to happen. Since the first six episodes premiered already, it means there will be four more episodes after the show returns from its hiatus. Season 6 Episode 7 will premiere on the 20th of November, which is a Sunday. After that, weekly scheduling of the episodes is expected for the remainder of the season. Rick and Morty have never taken more than one hiatus in a season, so we hope they stick to that pattern this season too.
So far we have had the pleasure of watching six brilliant episodes of Rick and Morty and after the hiatus, the expectations for episode 7 have only grown. Episode 7 is titled “Full Meta Jackrick” and although we don’t have an official synopsis from Adult Swim or Netflix just yet, we can try and make our guesses and theories about what might happen in this episode. The title of this episode is a reference to the film Full Metal Jacket, which was a 1987 war film directed by Stanley Kubrick. We are unsure if the title is simply a play on words or if the new episode will have anything to do with the infamous film.
Rick has fixed the portal gun, which means the wacky adventures will possibly return in the coming episodes. Here is a quirky recap of what happened in the season so far.
Season 6 has had a lot of Earth-based adventures so far, which have included the whole family, so we’re hoping that the second half of this season will go back to the usual interdimensional adventures with more crazy as we reach the finale of season 6.
Season 6 Episode 7 is expected to have the regulars, like Rick Sanchez voiced by Justin Roiland, Jerry Smith voiced by Chris Parnell, Summer Smith voiced by Spencer Grammer and Beth Smith voiced by Sarah Chalke.
Now, you might have noticed the absence of Morty in this list, and frankly, we’re a little surprised too. However, according to IMDB, and their cast list for this episode, there is no mention of Morty so far. This could just be a glitch on their part, however, if Morty will not appear in the new episode, that might actually bring about a lot of new fan theories about his disappearance. Well, it is only a matter of a few weeks before we find out exactly what is going on.
Whether we like it or not, the hiatus for Rick and Morty season 6 has increased the anticipation for the final episodes and maybe that was the intention behind this hiatus. Nevertheless, Adult Swim and Rick and Morty have complete faith in their fans, that they will all be around when the show does return after this hiatus. There is a lot in store for the final few episodes and it is only a matter of time before we find out all the trouble Rick and Morty are about to get into.
