Details: | 37-year-old Alina Mayer is a transgender woman with no registration stamp in her passport, and no steady job. At the age of 6, she felt she was not in her own body, started wearing women’s clothes, and her mother took Alina to the doctor. The doctors sent little Alina to a psychiatric clinic for three months. This is how it was often done in the USSR: LGBT people were treated by psychiatrists. Later, she was placed in an orphanage. Now Alina lives and works in an apartment in Minsk, where she does re-decoration works for a customer. When this work is over, she will have nowhere to live, again. Her cat Musia is the only soul who accepts Alina as she is. |
