Stranger Things: The First Shadow: The First Look And Release Date Revealed

A Stranger Things play titled Stranger Things: The First Shadow is coming up, and fans of the franchise cannot contain their excitement. The play will be a prequel to Stranger Things, set in Hawkins in 1959.

The play is expected to drop soon, and everyone is eager to know everything about it. It is the brainchild of the playwright Kate Trefry; according to her, it will be raining Easter eggs on the stage.

The story is based on an original story written by the Duffer Brothers, who are the genius behind the franchise, Kate Trefry, who was a writer on Stranger Things, and Jack Thorne, who wrote Enola Holmes 2, which starred the Stranger Things actress Millie Bobby Brown herself.

It will be directed by none other than the prestigious Tony Award winner Stephen Daldry and will be co-directed by the creative mind of Justin Martin. It will have Netflix and Sonia Friedman Productions as main producers, while the Duffer Brothers will remain creative producers. 21 Laps Entertainment will be an associate producer.

Matt and Ross Duffer recently told the media how excited they are to be collaborating with this creative team and working with a genius such as Stephen Daldry to expand the universe of the show onto the stage. They are also excited that the show will be held in such a culturally rich and heritage place as London.

The Plot of Stranger Things: The First Shadow

Stranger Things: The First Shadow is deeply influenced by the lore of Stranger Things. According to the official synopsis, before the world in Hawkins turned completely upside down, the Creel family came to the town in 1959 in search of a fresh start.

Hawkins in 1959 was a normal town with normal worries like Hopper’s car not taking a start, Bob’s sister not supporting his radio show or taking him seriously, and Joyce wanting to flee the town as fast as she could. But when the Creels arrive, they realise that a fresh start might be the least of their worries as the shadows of the past keep catching up to them.
