The Boys, an American superhero TV series, was created by Eric Kripke for Amazon Prime Video. After three fantastic seasons, fans are impatiently awaiting the launch of The Boys Season 4. It is based on the comic book of the same name by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson.
The series follows the titular band of vigilantes as they battle against people who abuse their talents. The show has a large ensemble cast. At first, it was intended to be a full-length movie. You can get all the details you need about The Boys Season 4 right here.
The Boys’ third season finale featured two key enemies who would influence the fourth season’s storyline. First up is Victoria Neuman, a super secret agent with the power to blow people’s heads off.
She stunned everyone by murdering a number of Congressmen and betraying Stan Edgar, the CEO of Vought, allowing Homelander to take over in the end.
Given that Victoria is currently the Vice President of the United States, she poses a serious threat. She has already targeted Annie and is aware that Hughie is aware of her secret because she is aware of her abilities.
It remains uncertain how much devastation Victoria might unleash in her newfound position of power, but The Boys have made it clear that they are determined to confront her.
Butcher conveyed as much in the final moments of the season. Despite their internal fractures throughout the season, The Boys—comprising MM, Butcher, Hughie, Frenchie, and Kimiko—managed to reunite by the season’s end.
Adding to their ranks is Annie, who has renounced her position as Starlight and joined their cause as the newest recruit.
With their unity restored, they stand ready to take on the challenges that lie ahead. The second major adversary primed for the fourth season is Homelander, who has become more deranged than ever. With his son Ryan by his side, he is steadily gaining influence among the alt-right in the United States.
Homelander’s actions have reached a terrifying level, as he brazenly kills a protester, earning applause from his followers. This suggests that he will become increasingly unpredictable and bloodthirsty in the upcoming season. Furthermore, with Ryan grinning at his side, there is a looming question of whether he will follow in his father’s footsteps.
Additionally, there is the pressing concern of Butcher’s diminishing lifespan. His reliance on temporary Compound V has left him terminally ill, indicating that his time is limited.
However, it remains unclear whether he will meet his demise after fulfilling his quest to kill Homelander, mirroring events from the comics, or if he will somehow cheat death once again.
In The Boys’ season three finale, many characters found themselves on the brink of death, but only one was ultimately pushed into an early grave. Unfortunately, it was Black Noir who met his demise, a surprising turn of events considering we had assumed he wouldn’t be returning for The Boys Season 4.
His fate was sealed when Homelander ripped out his guts, showcasing the brutal nature of the show. On the other hand, Dominique McElligott’s Queen Maeve managed to escape an untimely end. However, it remains uncertain whether McElligott will reprise her role in The Boys Season 4.
Although it appears that her character arc is complete, fans are eagerly anticipating her comeback in upcoming seasons. Additionally, there are rumors that Soldier Boy would return, which would increase Jensen Ackles’ screen time and excite spectators. Eric Kripke, the creator of The Boys, has stated his excitement over a Soldier Boy comeback, therefore ensuring the character’s future presence.
Simon Pegg devotees can also celebrate because he’ll be back for season 4. Rosemarie Dewitt from The Staircase will play Hughie’s long-lost mother and join the cast.
Rob Benedict and Elliot Knight have also been added to the ensemble, though their roles remain undisclosed. These new additions to the cast likely indicate the introduction of recognizable superheroes from the comics.
Speaking of superheroes, Susan Heyward will portray the character Sister Sage, while Valorie Curry will take on the mantle of Firecracker. Joining the roster for The Boys season 4 is Jeffrey Dean Morgan, known for his roles in The Walking Dead and Grey’s Anatomy. Alongside these actors, there will be several other talented cast members rounding out the ensemble.
