THE BOYS Spinoff GEN V Is Finally Happening And Everything We Know

Have you heard of Vought International? Because you haven’t, that means you haven’t watched one of the most popular and trending series, The Boys just yet. The series got so popular, that it is now getting a spin-off series, titled Gen V.

If you know anything about The Boys, you should have some idea of what you can expect from Gen V. The Boys pushed a whole lot of boundaries when it came it to on-screen entertainment and fans all over the world were shocked about how Prime Video green-lit the series, nevertheless, everyone loved it. Now that a spin-off series aka Gen V has been announced, fans can’t contain their excitement.

Gen V is developed by Michele Fazekas and Tara Butters and is a superhero, crime-fighting thriller, or at least that’s the best way we can try and describe it. Before we delve deeper into learning more about Gen V, we would recommend watching The Boys, not so you understand Gen V better, but simply because it is a brilliant series, and we’re certain Gen V will also live up to those expectations.

So here’s everything you need to know about the highly anticipated spin-off series, Gen V, from the plot to the cast, to the release date, and much more!

What is The Plot of Gen V?

Gen V focuses on the younger Supes (if you need to know more about Supes, you can read all about them right here.)

When we say younger, we don’t mean kids, we mean hormonal and competitive Supes who attend Godolkin University, which is America’s finest and most exclusive university for young-adult Supes, founded by Vought International.

Here is a little snippet from the official synopsis that will give you a glimpse into how life at Godolkin University will be very different from anything you have ever seen before: “Gen V is an irreverent, R-rated series that explores the lives of hormonal, competitive Supes as they put their physical, sexual, and moral boundaries to the test.”

So, it is safe to say that we’re all in for a ride, and if you have watched The Boys, you might be prepared for what’s to come, but if not, you’re in for a surprise!

At Godolkin University, you will see college students, dorm rooms, and professors, but that’s only for maybe the first half of the pilot episode because nothing stays sane in a show like this.

There will be a lot of blood, a whole lot of fighting, guts spilled across the floor, and much more. The Boys was best known for raunchy themes and gore, and we can expect to see a whole lot of that in Gen V too.

Godolkin University is literally a school for crimefighting, now whether the students fight each other, or the bad guys, or the good guys, we’ll have to wait to find out more about that.

The Plot of Gen V

Students normally spend four years at the University to train to become some of the best Supes and hone their powers. You can read more about Godolkin University here and don’t worry, they don’t seem to be accepting any new applications.

The Cast of Gen V

The Cast of Gen V will consist of some young talent as they make their way to transform into Supes. It takes a lot of courage and determination to be a part of a series that is almost ahead of its time, but these cast members seem more than thrilled about being a part of Gen V, and we as viewers are excited for them!

Some of the main cast members include Jaz Sinclair as Marie Moreau and Lizzie Broadway as Emma Shaw. You will most definitely see plenty of them in all the episodes of Gen V. The other main cast members include Maddie Phillips, London Thor, Chance Perdomo, Derek Luh, Shelley Conn, and Asa Germann.

The Cast of Gen V

There will be other recurring cast members and guest appearances in Gen V, and sources have confirmed that there will be some cameos from The Boys as well, which is definitely very exciting for the existing fans.

When and Where Can You Watch Gen V?

We have good news and we have bad news. But first, let us get the bad news out of the way, which is that Prime Video does not have a concrete release date for Gen V just yet. The good news is that Gen V will come to your screens in 2023, so you won’t have to wait too long.

Just like Prime Video took a chance on The Boys, it is also taking a chance on the spin-off series, Gen V. So, make sure you get your Prime Video subscription renewed for the new year because that is where you will be able to exclusively stream Gen V. Once we have a set date for the release of Gen V, we will make sure we keep you posted!

Is There a Trailer for Gen V?

Prime Video released a first-look video for Gen V and frankly, we’re just as shocked as you are. For the viewers who have watched the tv series, The Boys, the Gen V first look won’t be all too traumatizing, but if this is all new to you, then we must give you a little disclaimer, and advise you to watch it on an empty stomach, that’s what we did! Considering the fact that Gen V is a spin-off series of The Boys, there will be several similar elements, including dark themes, blood, and gore, and the first look is only a little glimpse into what you are about to experience for an entire season. Imagine this, and then multiply it by a hundred. We’re hoping to see an official trailer of Gen V closer to the release date of the series, but so far, this has got the fans excited! Warning: there are literally buckets of blood in the first look of Gen V!

Conclusion

2023 is a big year for fans of The Boys because season 4 might release in 2023 as well, along with the spin-off series, Gen V. We do recommend watching The Boys before you watch Gen V, just so you know what you’re getting yourself into, nevertheless, Gen V will be an experience of its own, and one of a kind!
