We already know 2023 is going to be a brilliant year for cinema, with movies like Oppenheimer, 65, and Barbie on the way. What Is The Plot of The Covenant?

The Covenant will be an action thriller movie, and not too many details about the plot have been revealed, but we have some idea of what we can expect from The Covenant. The Movie follows Sargent John Kinley who is almost at the end of his service, and his last duty is in Afghanistan. However, he did not anticipate that his world would completely change after this duty after he ends up severely injured. While things seem bleak for John Kinley, there is a ray of hope, and that is the interpreter, Ahmed. Ahmed takes it upon himself to make sure that Kinley is safe, even if that means carrying him for miles and trying to nurse him back to health.

The Plot of The Covenant

The Covenant isn’t just about one man helping another, but about how Kinley has suffered a traumatic injury that leads to amnesia in a foreign land. Now, all he can do is try and trace his steps through the eyes of Ahmed. He eventually realizes that Ahmed’s family is in a lot of danger, and it is time for Kinley to return the favor because he is in debt to him and his family. The Covenant is going to be an intense movie, and we have no doubt about it. It involved the Taliban, loss, grief, trauma, and everything you can relate war with.

The Cast of The Covenant

The Covenant has a brilliant cast whether we are talking about the people leading the movie, or the supporting cast. In the front and center, we have none other than Jake Gyllenhaal, who will be playing the role of Sergeant John Kinley in Movie. Jake Gyllenhaal is one of the leading men in Hollywood who is known for his work, and for being Taylor Swift’s ex whom she wrote a song about. Undoubtedly, a song and exes don’t negate all the hard work Jake Gyllenhaal has done and everything he has achieved. Some of his most popular work includes movies like Brokeback Mountain, Nightcrawler, Donnie Darko, Spider-Man: Far From Home, and The Day After Tomorrow amongst several others. He is known for playing more serious roles, and that streak is about to continue and get more intense in The Covenant.

The Cast of The Covenant

Joining him will be Dar Salim, who will be playing the role of Ahmed, and will be one of the most important characters of The Covenant, second to John Kinley. Dar Salim is a Danish actor who has previously appeared in movies like Darkland, Warrior, A Hijacking, Until We Fall, How to Tarot, and A War amongst others. Dar Salim is an experienced actor and we can’t wait to see what he brings to the table when it comes to The Covenant.

Other cast members who will be joining Jake Gyllenhaal and Dar Salim in The Covenant are Antony Starr, Alexandar Ludwig, Jason Wong, Bobby Schofield, Sean Sagar, Sina Parvaneh, and Emily Beecham. Although the focus will remain on Gyllenhaal and Salim, these cast members will also be important parts of The Covenant and the narrative.

When and Where Can you Watch The Covenant?

The Movie deserves the big screen treatment, and that is exactly what the movie will get. It won’t be long until you will be able to watch The Covenant, so go ahead and mark your calendars for the 21st of April. The movie was first announced in October 2021, so the viewers have had to patiently wait for over a year, but by the looks of it, It will definitely be worth the wait. The movie was initially titled “The Interpreter” which did make sense considering the plot but was later changed to The Covenant. Prime Video has acquired distribution rights to The Covenant, so those of you who don’t get to watch it in the theatres will eventually be able to do so on Prime Video!

Is There a Trailer for The Covenant?

MGM recently released the official trailer for The Covenant and in less than 24 hours, the trailer already has close to 3 million views, and that’s just how highly-anticipated Movie is. The comment section under the trailer of The Covenant is sold already and they can’t wait to see what Guy Ritchie has in store for them. This might just be one of the best trailers that the viewers might have seen this year. It looks promising with a whole lot of action and emotion, it will take you through several highs and lows, and we highly recommend watching it as soon as you’re done reading this article. Jake Gyllenhaal has done an incredible job as the lead of The Covenant, and that is visible from the trailer itself. As we near the release of The Covenant, we can’t help but wonder if the movie will live up to its expectations, but so far, things look great for Guy Ritchie’s The Covenant.
