Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe has officially ended with The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special (we’ve got you covered with a special review!), and we’re all set for Phase 5! One of the most anticipated movies of the upcoming phase is The Marvels. It has been a while since fans have seen Captain Marvel in action, and it’s high time she makes the comeback that we’ve all been waiting desperately for. However, The Marvels won’t just be about Carol Danvers, there is plenty more in store. The Marvels will also feature one of Marvel Studios’ newest superheroes who made her debut in Phase 4, and it is none other than Ms. Marvel. Yes, we know, there’s plenty of Marvel happening here, but we will help you understand as we proceed!
The Marvels will not be one of the opening projects of Phase 5, but despite that, it has become one of the most awaited projects that have been announced so far. It will be action-packed and full of girl power, and we can’t wait to tell you more about it. So, buckle in, because here’s everything you need to know about The Marvels, from the speculated plot to the cast, release date, and much more:

What Will The Plot of The Marvels Be?
As of now, it is too soon to have an official update regarding the plot of The Movie, and considering it is a part of the MCU, we can expect the plot to be revealed either very close to the release or you’ll figure it out as you watch The Marvels in your nearest theatre. However, what we do know is that The Marvels is most likely to take place after Ms. Marvel on the official timeline, as the tv series set up plenty of potential for The Movie. The end credit of Ms. Marvel shows Carol Danvers in Kamala Khan’s bedroom, while Kamala Khan aka Ms. Marvel has been warped into another adventure altogether. Very little has been revealed about what this actually means, but it shows a connection between Carol and Kamala, and that’s more than enough to set The Marvels up.
The Marvels will possibly start off with Carol finding Kamala. Have their bodies been swapped? Have their lives been interchanged in some weird fashion? The ending of Ms. Marvel was meant to leave clues for the fans, and while it did do so, it has also left the fans wondering what this means for the future of the characters. The Marvels will also feature Monica Rambeau, who probably has some unfinished business and an impending confrontation with Carol Danvers. Since this movie is based around Captain Marvel and Ms. Marvel, we can definitely see Nick Fury getting involved, but the capacity of his involvement will be based on the events of the upcoming tv series, Secret Invasion. While there are several pieces to this puzzle, what we do know for sure is that Kamala Khan will finally meet her favorite superhero, the one who inspires her, and it will surely be a sight worth seeing.
The Cast of The Marvels
Marvel Studios makes it a point to cast some of the best actors and actresses across Hollywood, while also giving a chance to upcoming stars, like Tom Holland, and it always pays off. The Marvels will of course feature Captain Marvel aka Carol Danvers since it is an intended sequel to the 2019 Captain Marvel movie. However, while we’re talking about fresh and upcoming talent, one of the stars of The Marvels will be Ms. Marvel aka Kamala Khan, played by the one and only Iman Vellani. Iman has stunned everyone with her performance in Mr. Marvel where we see her struggle with newfound powers while also trying to be a teenager from a South-Asian family. It will be an experience watching Iman on the big screen, and fans from all across are waiting for her performance in The Marvels.
Of course, we haven’t forgotten the star of the show, Carol Danvers, who will be played by Brie Larson. Larson will be reprising her role for this sequel, and according to sources, The Marvels will feature more human traits of Carol, and we can’t wait to see Larson embody these traits. Also, Brie and Iman would make a really fun duo, right?
Apart from Iman and Brie, The Marvels will feature a few more cast members reprising their roles, such as Teyonah Parris as Monica Rambeau, whose performance in WandaVision made everyone remember for her a long time to come. Samuel L. Jackson will be returning as Nick Fury, and frankly, everyone wants to see him interact with Kamala Khan, and maybe there will be an eye-roll or two. From the Disney series Ms. Marvel, Zenobia Shroff, Saagar Shaikh, and Mohan Kapur will be reprising their roles as Kamala’s family members, so hopefully, we learn a little more about them, and in turn, they learn more about their daughter, Ms. Marvel. Park Seo-joon and Zawe Ashton will be joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe with their roles in The Marvels, and Ashton is slated to play the villain!
When and Where Can You Watch The Marvels?
As mentioned before, The Marvels won’t be one of the first projects of Phase 5, so there is some time before you can watch the movie. The Marvels is scheduled to release on the 28th of July, 2023. The movie will be available to watch in theatres near you, and we can expect tickets to release a month in advance! After The Marvels has been released in the theatres, it will be available to stream on Disney+.
Is There a Trailer for The Marvels?
As of now, there is no official trailer for The Marvels, and we probably won’t be seeing one until sometime next year. Nevertheless, we will keep you posted!
Conclusion
The Marvels will be one of the more female-driven projects by Marvel Studios, which only makes it more exciting. This movie will showcase an upcoming superhero meeting her idol, and don’t we all want that to happen to us someday? Make sure you check out the website for any future updates about The Marvels.
