Who doesn’t love a good wedding, right? A joyous occasion where two people who are in love with each other, finally come together, in the presence of their loved ones. It does sound beautiful. But what happens when this wedding includes an extremely dysfunctional family who also happens to be chaotic beyond reason? That is probably the best way to sum up the upcoming comedy movie, titled, The People We Hate at the Wedding.
The title might be a little longer for our taste but despite that, it gives us a fair idea of what the movie might look like. There will definitely be a wedding and not a very normal one. It hasn’t been too long since Amazon Prime announced this movie, but it surely has taken the internet by storm. So we’re here to tell you everything you need to know about it. From the plot to the cast, to the release date and much more.

The thing about weddings is, that more of than not, people are obliged to invite their friends and family, even those that they don’t necessarily want around. Just like that, The People We Hate at the Wedding follows two siblings, Alice and Paul, along with their mother, who are all invited to their half-sister’s wedding. Neither Paul nor Alice are thrilled about this invite, but again, it’s all about obligations, trying to be a family, and maybe even acting as they all care about each other.
Now, the American family travels all the way to the United Kingdom to attend a wedding, begrudgingly. What ensues further is pure chaos from start to finish. The family is less than perfect and they are not ready for what’s about to hit them. In this article, we will also talk about the trailer and the cast, which will give all of you a better idea of what to expect from this movie.
The People We Hate at the Wedding boasts a star-studded cast. There are some very prominent names in the upcoming comedy, and they are all veterans of this genre. Most of these actors and actresses are known for their comic roles in moves and tv shows. Playing the role of Alice, we have none other than Kristen Bell, who is best known for her work in the show The Good Place. There is also Ben Platt who will be playing the role of Alice’s brother, and you might recognise him from the film series Pitch Perfect.
Apart from these two brilliant cast members, we will also have the pleasure of seeing Allison Janney, Cynthia Addai-Robinson, John Macmillan, Karan Soni, Jorma Taccone, Annie Murphy, Dustin Milligan, Tony Goldwyn and Julian Ovenden. Like we said before, it is a star-studded cast! The plot seems hilarious and chaotic as it is, but throw in some great comedy actors, and it becomes the perfect recipe.
It isn’t long until you will be able to stream People We Hate at the Wedding! You can RSVP and check plus one for this movie which will be released on the 18th of November! November is the perfect month for comedies. It is right after the spooky season, and right before the romantic season. This movie will be perfect to unwind with in between these two months. You can stream the movie on Amazon Prime, so if you haven’t bought the subscription yet, now is your chance!
Yes, and it is the only thing you will need to watch in order to be convinced that this film is going to be one hell of a ride! The official trailer was released recently and has already garnered the attention of several people across the globe. The trailer is pure and utter chaos from start to finish. Even though this is a comedy, we can expect a plot twist at some point in the movie. Fans are also thrilled about seeing Kristen Bell and Ben Platt working together and sharing the same screen, as their brother-sister bond seems to have struck a chord, especially keeping in mind the relationship they have with their mother.
