Sometimes, all we need is a reality check, and that’s where the movie The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck comes into play. In September 2016, Mark Hanson wrote a self-help book titled The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck, which became a bestseller and is still one of the most popular books out there. Originally, there were rumors about this book getting a TV adaptation, but instead, it is being turned into a documentary, which makes it a lot more interesting. The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck follows the human need to constantly be in the pursuit of happiness, whether it is in the form of money, relationships, or even low-fat yogurt. We are constantly caring far too much about too many things, and this documentary highlights something very crucial, which we all must abide by, and that is The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck.
The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck will be directed by Nathan Price because Mark Hanson probably realized that directing a documentary isn’t the same as writing a book, however, Hanson will remain at the center of the stage, and we will tell you just how. Here’s everything you need to know about the upcoming documentary, The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck, from the cast to its trailer, and much more:
I made a feature film. It has me and pandas and uses the word "fuck" a lot. You might like it.

The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck is about changing the way you look at life and perceive things. As mentioned before, the documentary is going to be based on the self-help book, The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck, written by Mark Hanson. The book is about how humans can lead better lives. James Clear summarizes the thoughts of Hanson’s book by saying, “The key to a good life is not giving a fuck about more; it’s giving a fuck about less, giving a fuck about only what is true and immediate and important.” The more you read this, the more it makes sense, and that’s exactly what this documentary is going to revolve around. The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck is going to make you question the meaning of life, and what happiness means to you. Does happiness mean a new car or a beautiful girlfriend? Does it mean losing a lot of weight or getting a new job? But why should it mean any of these things?
We as humans chase happiness every single day, and it’s time we stop, and Mark Hanson, through his documentary, The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck, teaches us exactly how to do that. However, he isn’t alone in this quest, as he also has Disappointment Panda, who is the superhero we didn’t know we needed until now, unless you have read the book, of course, which we highly recommend. The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck is going to be your guide to happiness and moving forward, social media will probably not make you feel as bad as it usually does. The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck is going to be a breath of fresh air and the reality check that we all need. Mark Hanson is about to bring his writing to the screen, and the book that we have all been raving about since 2016 will finally be on screen. We do recommend reading the book before watching The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck, however, it most definitely isn’t a prerequisite.
The cast of The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck is going to be limited and not just because it is a documentary. By the looks of it, there will be several clips of random people, who could be a part of Hanson’s life or just people whose lives he felt needed to be narrated in order to teach us more about The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck. However, the main cast member of this documentary is going to be the man himself, Mark Hanson. Hanson will be featured in and narrating the entire documentary, The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck. It isn’t often that authors get a chance to do something like this, and we are more than excited to see Mark Hanson on our screens. Of course, the Disappointed Panda will also be a cast member, we can’t forget him!
The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck will release in select theatres only, on the 4th of January. So it isn’t long before you get that reality check you always needed, and more importantly, this might just be the best way to start your new year. In addition to that, The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck will subsequently also release on digital platforms for the rest of the viewers to watch all across the world.
The official trailer of The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck is everything you would expect it to be and more, and starts on a very real note with Mark Hanson saying, “you’re going to die one day.” That sets the tone of the entire documentary, and we don’t mean that it’s going to be depressing. The trailer gives us a glimpse into what the documentary will be about. The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck will truly be one of a kind, and undoubtedly will hold some very important life lessons, and you can get some of them from the trailer itself. Also, one of the best parts about this trailer is, it shows us just how thrilled Mark Hanson looks bringing his book to life, with him in the movie, which is something authors don’t experience very often. Do let us know in the comments if the official trailer for The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck provokes any emotions or thoughts about life.
The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck might be released at the start of 2023, but we have no doubt that it will be one of the best documentaries of the year. However, before you learn more about The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck and pursuing happiness, do let us know in the comments what does make you happy?
