The White Lotus Season 2 has finally come to an end, and everyone has been raving about the finale, and we’re here to debrief with you. If you haven’t watched The White Lotus Season 2 finale yet, we must warn you that there will be some spoilers, however, if you don’t mind spoilers or have watched the show, do read this article, and let us know your thoughts about it. The White Lotus franchise has grown to two seasons, and after the success of the first season, a second season was inevitable, and The White Lotus Season 2 did not disappoint. People have mixed feelings about the finale, because a lot happened, which wasn’t entirely expected.
The White Lotus Season 2 took us all the way to Sicily this time around, and we had the honor to witness everything Italian. Whether that was the beaches, the food, the wine, or even the sex, there was something for everyone. There were also some brilliant characters in The White Lotus Season 2 and each one of them had a back story, a struggle, and even a motive, which made this season highly anticipated, which is why The White Lotus Season 2 finale was probably the most highly anticipated season finale of 2022. Let’s dive into how this season panned out and whether the finale was better than we hoped it would be.
One of the main reasons everyone was excited about The White Lotus Season 2 was that although it was the second season in the franchise and followed the same pattern, it wasn’t really related to the first season. This usually makes it easier to follow, and that is exactly what happened with The White Lotus Season 2. In our opinion, The White Lotus Season 2 was better than the first season, and this was a difficult decision because both seasons have been incredible in their own way. For us, The White Lotus Season 2 felt like it was a little more fast-paced and more things happened this season, which lacked in the first season. The White Lotus Season 2 had a whole lot going for it. Whether it was Tanya and Portia going away with random men to an island, the two couples going through immense tension, or even the three generations of men who were passing down toxic masculinity to each other. There was a lot to look forward to, and several fans had their theories and guesses about what was going to happen, and more importantly, who was going to die. The first episode established that there was more than one dead body, which only increased the suspense. The White Lotus Season 2 upped the ante and the stakes. More importantly, the season finale was comparatively better and more action-packed than the first season.
However, we will let you decide for yourself whether you liked the first season more than the second, but let’s just say, the first season had more of a self-defense move, and while The White Lotus Season 2 could be considered that too, it was a lot more intense, with a lot more blood, and a lot more secrets.
As aforementioned, The White Lotus Season 2 finale was action-packed and we were on the edge of our seats the whole time. To begin with, we previously spoke about how Portia was about to regret choosing Jack over Albie and that is exactly what happened, however, Portia cheated death. Turns out, Tanya’s husband, Greg, who abandoned her in Sicily and was never heard from again, had connections with the gay men who took Tanya and Portia away on a yacht to a beautiful palace on an island. It looked beautiful and too good to be true, and that is exactly what happened. Tanya and Portia were away from each other, the day they were supposed to return to their hotel, but that didn’t happen, and that’s where all the problem began. Portia and Tanya are smart women who got caught up with the wrong men. Quentin and Jack were not what they seemed, but luckily, Jack let go of Portia, and instead of the hotel, took her straight to the airport, asking her to be careful. However, the same did not happen with Tanya. Without spoiling too much, let’s just say, Jennifer Coolidge, along with a few other side characters will not reprise their role if there is a The White Lotus Season 3.
Apart from this, Ethan and Harper seemed to have resolved their problems in a very turbulent marriage, and they might just have Cameron to thank for it. The dynamic between Ethan, Harper, Cameron, and Daphne was interesting, to say the least. Ethan tried to drown Cameron at one point, Ethan and Daphne had a little conversation, Harper admitted to kissing Cameron, and yet all four of them managed to have their final dinner together at the hotel before taking their flight back to the States the next day after Daphne found the dead body floating in the pool.
Something that stood out in The White Lotus Season 2 was Valentina’s character growth, and she really came into her own towards the season finale. As for Mia and Lucia, who definitely stirred the pot in The White Lotus Season 2, are probably the happiest at the end of the season. Mia is officially the singer and pianist at the White Lotus hotel, and Lucia has pulled off the perfect con, taking away a grand total of 50,000 euros from the Di Grassos, specifically Albie. As for Albie, he realized the con the following morning, but fans are more than happy that he ran into Portia at the airport and the two exchanged numbers. Maybe they will be on their honeymoon in The White Lotus Season 3!
While all characters had something going on for them in The White Lotus Season 2 finale, but Jennifer Coolidge as Tanya takes the cake with her stellar performance, and we wouldn’t have expected anything less from her.
We highly recommend The White Lotus Season 2 and especially the finale episode. We’re sure everyone has their theories and guesses about what is going to happen in the finale, and you might be right, you might be wrong, but you will be entertained from start to finish. This is also the longest episode of The White Lotus Season 2, so you’re in for a ride.
