Trigun Stampede Short Review
At first look itself, a viewer can distinguish the style of Trigun (the 90s) and Trigun Stampede. They made it clear with episode 1 that they will be using modern art for the new gen viewers. The opening of the episode was the best to avoid viewers getting confused and worked up on understanding the story.
Plus, in Trigun Stampede characters have been redefined with better roles; previously Meryl and Milly were insurance agents in the classic series while they are reporters in the modern one. Milly was omitted entirely, and in place of her, a veteran named Robert has been introduced into the series. In the anime community, CG is often considered taboo but, its use in the series was quite impressive.
One of the best examples of CG animation would be Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero. No doubt that Orange Studio has done a fantastic job with the expressive artwork and character details. However, they used a vibrant style for the animation which may not be liked by many and could be a point of drawback.
Conclusion
The narrative pull was great to grab the audience’s attention, but only time will tell whether it will be able to shine or not. As of February 2023, Trigun Stampede has a 7.4 rating (average) in MAL.
