Tying the Knot with an Amagami Sister is a comical and wholesome manga series written and illustrated by Marcey Naito. The manga began serialization in April 2021 and the official Twitter account of the author of Tying the Knot with an Amagami Sister made an announcement of the anime adaptation to commemorate the manga’s anniversary and Naito’s birthday as well.
The official date has not been revealed but we can expect the release by Winter 2023 or Spring 2024.

The story is based on an average high school student named Uryu Kamihate whose aim is to clear Kyoto University’s med school entrance exam. Uryu spent most of his life in an orphanage after the death of his mother and he came to Amagami shrine to live and clear the entrance exam.
The head priest requests Uryu to marry one of his three granddaughters and that’s how the main story begins. The path of marriage is not easy when the shrine is in danger and on the verge of closing down you will have to do something to save the shrine and make a decision about the marriage.

Coming to the manga review, I’d say the story feels special as all the girls remain pious and dedicated to gods as a priestess in contrast to the atheist Uryu. The story focuses on spirituality and religion which has been a concept of ignorance in the anime industry as it draws criticism and hatred, but I would say the story is intriguing.
The writer did not touch all elements of spirituality and religion because we know then it may get troublesome for him to get greenlight for the anime, but hey somehow he made it to the screen and we can’t wait to watch Tying the Knot with an Amagami Sister on screen
