In Episode 1 we see how Rinko ended up as Raeliana. She was a student pursuing med school who gets pushed off the rooftop. Now here’s the catch, the manga plot, and the anime plot are going in opposite directions, because in the manga we saw Rinko being a doctor who worked day and night to keep the patients alive but hey we can’t judge the anime yet, we must watch more episodes before we criticize it for not adapting the manga completely.
As the story progresses we see Raeliana trying to break off their engagement with her fiance Brooks as she read in the novel that Brooks will try to kill her and take the wealth of the Mcmillan family. Calling Off Engagement with Brooks
The story of Why Raeliana Ended Up at the Duke’s Mansion Episode 2 begins with Duke Noah visiting Raeliana with a bouquet but his intentions although looks like he wants to check up on her but also feels like he wants to know more about the royal seal which Raeliana mentioned before.
After Noah leaves, Raeliana tells her parents to cut off the engagement with Brooks as she is not happy and in love with him. She also mentions that she adores Duke Noah and wants to marry him.
The sudden change of events was unexpected and at least for me I did not expect something like this to happen as I have been following the manhwa for so long but the plot was not like this at all. I would not say that it’s completely boring or off track but maybe they tried to experiment with the story to keep the fans entertained and till now it’s doing a great job.
Raeliana Makes a Contract
We see Raeliana visiting Duke Noah where she uses all her cards to negotiate and make him agree to the contract of pretending as fiance for six months. She wittily convinces Duke of her intelligence and political perception which would be of use to him. Duke agrees and makes a contract with Raeliana and asks her to shift to his mansion after three days.
Red Eyed Taylor
Later we see her being followed by a red-haired handsome character named Adam Taylor, who remains quiet at all times, but his expressions are adorable. While Raeliana was looking at flowers her sister runs towards her and hugs her.
Raeliana’s younger sister tells her that she has prayed for Raeliana and Duke to be happy together and has written the prayer in the balloon which she let go of after telling Raeliana its purpose.
The balloon gets stuck to the branch of a tree and Taylor releases the balloon and we see a soft side of Taylor. Yes, we are also expecting a love triangle or reverse harem but let’s see what will happen next. The episode ends with Raeliana moving into Duke’s mansion and finally, it looks like the main story has started.

We know that you want to know more, but the anime is not following the source so it’s difficult to say what will happen next. But I am expecting Raeliana and Duke Noah to get closer in future episodes.
