The delay is almost over, To All The Boys fans. The eagerly anticipated TATB spinoff series, XO Kitty, is almost here, two years after it was first revealed. The main character of XO Kitty is the sharp-tongued Katherine Song Covey, nicknamed Kitty.
She is a beloved character from the TATB films as high school is the beginning of a very special period in her life.
It begins with all of its highs, lows, and emotional turns. This is going to be a wild journey, Anna Cathcart said on her Instagram. Further, we don’t even need evidence to be certain that it will.
Here, however, is everything we currently know about XO Kitty in case you’re searching for more information.

A spinoff of the To All The Boys movie franchise is XO Kitty. XO Kitty will track the life of Kitty, Lara Jean Covey’s younger sister, and is set after the events of the first three movies.
After she moves from Portland to Seoul to be with her long-distance lover, Dae, the story will take place. From To All the Boys: Always and Forever, you may recall Kitty and Dae’s first meeting.
They first connected at Namsan Tower in Seoul, where they first met. Recently, the formal synopsis for the series was also made public.
According to the description, the tale centers on teen matchmaker Kitty Song Covey, who believes she is an expert on love. To be with her long-distance boyfriend, she soon relocates halfway around the globe.
She’ll quickly understand, however, that relationships are significantly more difficult when your own heart is at stake. Sascha Rothchild and Jenny Han, the original creator of the To All The Boys books, are co-showrunners and executive producers of XO Kitty. They all went head over heels in love with Lara Jean and her tale, just like we did.
Therefore, they believed that letting Kitty stand on her own as a character would be the greatest gift they could offer her. They chose to keep her out of either sister’s influence. Han added that by taking the baton from Lara Jean, she is assuming a leadership role.
Anna Cathcart, who previously played Kitty, is a member of the XO, Kitty ensemble. She is a Canadian actor who rose to fame as Agent Olympia in Season 2 of Odd Squad.
In addition, Cathcart received widespread acclaim for her performance as Kitty Covey in the Netflix film series To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before. Along with Spring Breakaway and Descendants 2 and 3, Anna is also well-known.
Dae will be played by South Korean star Choi Minyeong in the meantime. Previously, Jeon Hoyoung, who most recently competed in MNET’s talent competition Boys Planet, portrayed the role of Dae.
South Korean child actor Choi Minyeong made his screen debut in 2014. He has since made numerous broadcast appearances. His work on the television shows The Promise and Twenty-Five Twenty-One is well recognized.
We also know that a few of Kitty’s peers will be among the recurring cast. Gia Kim, Sang Heon Lee, Anthony Keyvan, and Peter Thurnwald will all be a part of it. Regan Aliyah and Jocelyn Shelfo are additional character members.
Yunjin Kim and Michael K. Lee are two of the older ensemble members. The actor Michael portrays professor Lee. Additionally, John Corbett and Sarayu Blue will both be reprising their parts in the new season.
We are unsure of how important their roles will be or how much screen time they will receive because Kitty is relocating to a different area of the world. In the memories, we also saw appearances from Lana Condor and Noah Centineo.
Who knows—perhaps there will be yet another noteworthy appearance in the future. Netflix has not yet verified anything.
On March 22, Netflix revealed that the world debut of XO, Kitty would take place on May 18, 2023. Only Netflix will offer the series for streaming.
XO, Kitty’s formal trailer has not yet been released. However, to coincide with the news of the premiere, Netflix has debuted an exclusive first clip from the show. In the video, Kitty, who has significantly matured since we last saw her, argues for moving to Korea to be with Dae.
Kitty explains to her father and his wife that she has a gut feeling when two people are destined to be together. She added that she felt the same way about Lara Jean and Peter and that she felt it for them both.
As she is the unintentional winner, which the Pope is not Kitty explains this. The video footage also shows Kitty’s discovery of her mother’s identity, who died when she was a young child.
Through a cool scholarship for Koreans living overseas to learn about their culture, she relocated to Korea for boarding school in her junior year of high school. As she looks through her mother’s mementos, she makes a significant realization. The reason was that her mother had previously gone to Dae’s school.
The first season of the XO’s Kitty has a total of 10 episodes. The length of each episode is roughly 30 minutes. Jennifer Arnold, Jeff Chan, Pamela Romanowsky, and Katina Medina Mora are among the directors of the episodes.
In addition to the clip and the information about the debut, eight show stills were also released by Netflix.
