What Is The Plot of You People?
The official synopsis on Netflix reads, “A new couple fall in love and find themselves confronting societal expectations and generational differences amidst their families’ clashing cultures, in this comedy from Kenya Barris.” The synopsis gives us a fair idea about what to expect from the upcoming romantic comedy, You People. Neither the creators, nor the cast has revealed too many details about the plot, but that’s the best way to go when it comes to romantic comedies, because you need to go in with an open mind and heart and see what comes your way, and that’s exactly what will happen with You People. Albeit, as the trend goes, we probably will learn more about the plot closer to the release date.
You People deals with a very interesting concept of interracial relationships, and while they seem sweet and forward on paper, they can be a lot harder to navigate in reality. The awkwardness is perfect because it works so well between Hill and Murphy, and that is exactly what the fans are looking forward to the most. Jonah Hill and Eddie Murphy have some of the most versatile careers in Hollywood, and this little teaser is proof that this duo can do just about anything, especially when put together.
