‘American-born Chinese’ came on Disney+ around May 2023 and within no time, the show became quite popular among fans. The web series has a great story that has enticed the audience to have another season. With Oscar-winning panelists Michelle Yeoh and Ke Huy Quan on the show, fans are easily attracted to the show.
So is the show having a season 2 soon? Let’s dive in.
The popular teenage drama streaming on Disney+ has not been renewed. The web series depicts the life of Jin Wang who is a typical teenager through some changes. He is balancing his heritage and school image like any other Asian. But one day his life changes when he befriends the son of a Chinese goddess. After this, his life changes completely for good.
With a heavy heart, the show has been canceled by Disney. The main reason for the cancellation has not been revealed but the show’s viewership didn’t have much to have a green light for another season. Despite the series having a great cast from Everything Everywhere All at Once, they could not garner much to have a season 2.
Chances are that the teenage web series might be streamed on a different platform. The first season of the series is still available on the OTT platform. So fans don’t feel disheartened with the news.
In the teenage drama, we saw Ben Wang, Yann Yann Yeo, Chin Han, Ke Huy Quan, Jimmy Liu, Sydney Taylor, Daniel Wu, and Michelle Yeoh.
With the series not being renewed, fans must have been a little disheartened. The show was quite jolly and gave out Turning Red vibes but still, the show was cancelled. There is a possibility that the show might come on another streaming platform. So till then wait patiently for the announcement and stay tuned to know more.
