Is ‘The Idea of You True Story’ or not?
Based on the 2017 novel written by Robinne Lee, it is adapted from it. It is not real. It’s just a simple fan-fiction novel that casts a story between a mature love. As per the trailer, we meet Solène Marchand, a divorced mother and gallery owner, who finds herself unexpectedly drawn to the charismatic lead singer of August Moon, Hayes Campbell, during a chance encounter at Coachella.
As their unlikely romance blossoms amidst societal judgment, they navigate the complexities of their generational differences. Can their forbidden love withstand the scrutiny and challenges that lie ahead?
The Idea of You: Speculation
There are also a few speculations that the novel is based on the love story that hit the media when Harry Styles dated Olivia Wilde. Those who have read the book say that the story is loosely based on their relationship. We can’t say how true or untrue it is but they split around 2022. The author even said in an interview that she knew Harry Styles was interested in dating older women.
When will ‘The Idea of You’ be released?
It is set to release at SXSW on March 16, 2024. Then, instead of a theatre release, it will be directly released on Prime Video on May 2, 2024. It stars Anne Hathaway and Nicholas Galitzine in the lead.
